(PSN)Pengu_Imperialus Posted March 13, 2014 Share Posted March 13, 2014 I really, really like this game, but things seem to get easier instead of more difficult. The first couple weeks of game play were so much fun. Getting murdered by new and interesting people. The Stalker knocking my soul clean out my body because I killed his Auntie Hek. Lephantis crushing the life out of my body. The whole time running from cover to cover screaming at the top of my lungs. Then I gathered mods and guns and giant space swords and I strode forth, armed to the teeth looking for my next challenge. However, a funny thing happened. In my rush to defeat my enemies I succeeded beyond my wildest dreams. The Stalker vaporized by single blasts, Lephantis beaten to death with his own heads, and the vast armies of the grineer and Corpus fleeing before me. Wait, I cry, come back! Alas all that is left is the dust of an m primed Zanuka. Update 12 comes, and with it hope. A new enemy a new lab a new frame, oh joyous day. The hope was short lived. 1300 oxium later I am but the shell of a Tenno. I lived for the thrill of battle but am reduced to grinding rocks. Gathering rocks is a sorry substitute for the rush of battle, even if you gather them with a space shotgun while doing a sweet flip. I beg the gods of this universe to once again challenge us. Sh1n3y Posted March 13, 2014 Share Posted March 13, 2014 :) Cleverly written. You made me giggle. However, it's somewhat a matter of perspective. Play to have fun, not to get something asap (new mod, new gun, etc.). Play with frames and weapons that you enjoy most, not necessarily with the ones that are considered the best. I find myself feeling grindy sometimes as well and have to remind myself to not get sucked into the mindset of the majority of speed rushers out there. Change your pace: play some solo, play some tough survival as long as you can, explore the void finding secrets... Give variety to your life. My 2 cents... I could not agree more, artificially increasing the difficulty is nothing more than a quick fix, but it is still something you can do if you want more difficulty. The desire to explore is strong in me, and it stills the desire for challenge but for only a short time. Cyberdown Posted March 14, 2014 Share Posted March 14, 2014 (edited) ahh yes the "make it harder" complaints...they are always followed with: "this is artificial difficulty and not fun" "this weapon/build/ are not viable anymore" "we should be able to solo all content" and a bunch of other complaints when things do get more difficult. Also, difficulty, as I pointed out in another "make it harder" thread, are found on the outer planet survival and defense missions...you know the ones that are total ghost towns because people would rather do the easier inner planet content.... If people really wanted harder content you would see more of the frail frames played, as well as the outer planets at least being somewhat populated. I bet if they released statistics you would see the outer planets getting like 10% of the population playing while the easy content gets over half. I would LOVE to be able to pop into a public pluto survival whenever I wanted, but for that I need to hit mercury/venus/earth where all the high level rhinos are... Yeah id like some harder content, kinda, but more fitting for the game. Im not interested in lame mega boss fights, I like this game for its horde mode play, and slaughtering endless streams of aliens...which suits the game play quite well...but I wouldn't mind if they had some harder content...but I guarantee you it would rarely get play. Also I hate calling a game like this grind, when I play it for the gameplay rather than a medium in which to receive rewards..
