Prototype

The Idea
The new mode revolves around a simple task - retrieve an Orokin Prototype Weapon from the Grineer / Corpus and escape successfully.

Why is this special?
While not an ordinary retrieval, the Prototype Weapon itself may be used by the Tenno as they attempt to escape, although they are powerful - they come with a heavy price. See below for more details.

Things to Note
In each Prototype Mission only generates a single Prototype Weapon (hence only one player may use it) and does not carry over upon Mission End (Success or Fail).

List of Prototype Weapons (More to Come!)

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

Primary Weapons - Replaces the player's Primary Weapon.

Vampyre - An assault Rifle which continuously drains the player's Health. Killing an enemy unit restores a portion of the player's Health.

Optimizer - A shotgun with with varying Spread, depending on the number of enemies in front of the player, the wider the spread and vice versa. Incredibly long reload time.

Dead Eye - A sniper with low zoom with 100% Accuracy and Critical. Limits the player's vision. Zooming with Dead Eye provides full vision as normal.

Black Hole - A launcher that shoots out a small orb forward before expanding, dealing huge amount of damage. Significantly reduces the player's Aiming Speed and Movement Speed. Also deals damage to the user if nearby.

Soul Catcher - A launcher that marks a target area for a spiritual (satellite) cannon from above. Has a 3-second delay before firing.

Rain - A bow that shoots out five arrows at a cost of one ammunition. Removes the user's cross-hair.
_____________________________________________________________________________________________

Secondary Weapons - Replaces the player's Secondary Weapon.

Feather Dart - Single Weapon. Shoots out darts that sticks on enemies. Upon accumulating five darts on a single enemy all the darts explodes, dealing damage and recovers the user's Energy. Each dart shot drains the player's Energy.

Expunge - Single Weapon. Shoots out all ammunition at once. Ammunition drops only recovers half of the usual amount. (A +20 Rifle Ammo only gives +10 Rifle Ammo).

Cyrospray - Single Weapon. Shoots out a spray that greatly reduces enemies speed. Longer exposure freezes the target. Slows the player's movement speed.

Binder - Dual Weapon. Uses the same mechanic as Tigris. Pressing the Left Mouse Button launches a single rope dart and releasing it launches a second rope dart. If the Binder hits two different targets, they are dragged to each other, dealing collision damage and binding them. Has a very long reload time.

Mortar Shell - Thrown Weapon. Throws a grenade that explodes upon contact or after a brief delay. Limited to 3 Ammo and can no longer be recovered. Upon usage, the player's secondary weapon will not be returned.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

Melee Weapon - Replaces the player's Melee Weapon.

Infinity - A Long Katana with very low base damage. The longer the weapon is sheathed (not pressing 'E') each second, the damage increases indefinitely. Restarts upon attacking.

Overbreak - A Short set of Gauntlets. Briefly launches waves of attack in a distance. Each attack drains the Energy.

Wax and Wane - Dual curved blades. Performing Maneuvers also causes the user to attack at the same time (Jumping, Front/Back Flip, Wall Climb, Clinging to Walls). Halves the player's Energy.

Oblivion - A Thrown ball of spike. When thrown, it will follow the player's cross-hair, dealing damage upon all enemies on contact. Has a significant time before returning and the player cannot switch with his Primary or Secondary Weapons.

Ark - A  Heavy Anchor with 360 degree cleave. Reduces the player's Attack Speed by half.

I like it, but why do they use mods?

Odd and I just realized it. Well - more or less, you switch your weapons with a different one so your previous weapon's Mods applies to the Prototype Weapon as well. So switching your Shotgun-base Weapon with an Assault-base Prototype will most likely be bad but otherwise, enjoyable.

Ya but like you would need to build for a weapon that would come out at random. Seems just like it would over complicate things.
