Brimir
Having Iron Skin active prevents you from blocking. I suspect this is because technically speaking it is the Iron Skin that gets hit, not your Warframe. Compare it to Trinity's Blessing where your Warframe does get hit, but you simply don't take any damage from it. Blocking is possible during Blessing, which is sorta funny because it essentially does nothing (you are invulnerable anyway!). It needs to be changed so that hits impacting your Iron Skin counts as hitting your Warframe too, so that you can block. This isn't a big issue now (except not being able to use the Blocking mods, but who in their right mind would?) but once Melee 2.0 comes around this will prevent Rhino from Countering properly which seems integral to the new system. -Himari-
Good points. Hopefully, when it does come out, this little issue won't be happening. So that you can fully enjoy countering without having to expose yourself for too long.
Brimir
If it is a balance issue (which I doubt, it is an issue of the hits not "hitting" your Warframe so there's nothing to block) they can just make the blocking not reduce damage to Iron Skin. The functionality just has to be there (just like how blocking does nothing for Blessing).
