De, You Got My Trust

Hi guys :)

It's been a while since the last time I posted something constructive on this forum, around 2 months I guess.

My relation with Warframe somehow changed. I've never been a true PC player, and Warframe is only the second game I get truly addicted on this platform (first one was Guildwars, the first one).

But with Warframe, it reached a whole new level of addiction : watching Livestreams, using the forum sometimes more than the actual game. I will repeat what I once said : what you guys in DE created communication-wise is/was one of the best strategy in the game industry. It had its flaws as you openned the pandora box of your customers' opinions. You had to deal with us on a new basis, taking our requests and feedbacks into consideration, while most of the developpers would just do what they want with their games. Well, at least you were surfing between using feedbacks and giving us the illusion that it truly matters. But you had your plan for Warframe from the start, and all we've done was just some little additions, or reassuring you about what path Warframe should follow. But it was fun, really, having this kind of relationship with people who designed the game.

After a long month not playing the game, I finally came back for the last event. And I got really surprised by all the improvements we got. The best one would be the leader types of ennemies. We asked for mini bosses, we got it on another way that just need to get improved on a design level. But you reworked all your bosses, and I'm sure that someday leaders will also get a rework. Your game is still too easy though, but it is now harder if you want to go solo, especially for the void that was a piece of cake before. The new tilesets and mission types are really interesting and fun. And the only real problem I still have with the game is the Prime system and the Void/Derelict rewards. But hey, it's the only one that really bothers me at the moment, and I can tell you that they were plenty a few months back.

That's the reason why I am writing this message, as I am now sure that Warframe has great and brillant prospects for the next months, next year. I don't watch livestreams anymore, I don't check the forum as often as I used to. Since I played the last event, I don't really feel the need to do so anymore. I just want to play the game, get more involved in my clan, and just stop spending so much time here or with things related to the game. I will just enjoy Warframe. You see, my love for this game wasn't just about getting a founder status or buying some plats. When I came back to my country, I bought a new sceen to plug on my laptop, and now I just bought a new computer (a desktop this time) just to get a Nvidia platform and play your game in 1080p with PhysX for a new experience. Yes, I got passionate, but you also know that passion burns you, and it's the reason why I just want to refocus on the game.

There's another reason why I decided to move away from the forum. And I owe you an apology. Not only you Digital Extremes or Rebecca, but also some players. We had the ambition to launch a forum about Warframe that would act like a thinktank and work in a closer relationship with the devs, in order to provide reports and feedbacks from every kind of player in Warframe (veterans, newbies, each clan tier, solo players etc.). I asked you to create such a sub forum on the official one, but you couldn't do it. With your last private message, you confirmed that you will launch soon your own surveys on this forum to improve the game. And with such a statement, I see no need to create another forum that will just be looked at by some of your members. That's what we need for the game, that's what we've been asking for for months : just getting a chance to truly improve the game with a structured relationship and a better community management feedback-wise. So I hope that you will keep this in mind, keep your promises and your words, and eventually use those surveys on this official forum or in DC.

So I am typing this wall of text just to tell you that you got my trust. That I am not going to take part in this forum as much as I used to, and will instead just be a player, a faithful one, but a more silent one. And here are my final hopes for your game :

- having a better and fair rewarding system even if it is based on RNG

- getting an increased difficulty in Warfarme with new areas for experienced players, with real quests and challenges

- a better management of the community and their feedbacks with more surveys, polls

- a better management of the region forums (we need you there too DE)

Until then, keep up the good work, and thank you for all the fun.

1: I agree with you there, the RNG in some areas is a bit flooded (In my opinion the option of credit caches is stupid and should be removed entirely)

2: I'm confused by this one. For the simple reason is that higher level stuff is really difficult. It's damn close to impossible to solo TIII... anything, really even if you have very very good equiptment.

3: Yes, polls are fantastic.

4: I've never used Region. It always seemed chaotic. If I ever want to talk I go to Council.

I solo every TIII except the defense. And even for defense, two clan mates and it gets easy. What I am saying here, and what I am waiting for, is new areas with longer and more complex missions that need a deeper thought on how to handle it, and requires to team up :)

Good post Op but I have to disagree with the enemy leaders :they're just reskins of enemies with warframe powers, and for gunner leaders ridiculously high firepower , it's more dissapointing than anything.  I was expecting stuff like tacticians that would deploy portable barriers to give cover to the other units , install a mounted gun, a unit that would be protected by the other units = leaders; not basic units on steroids.

+ They're not strong enough or original enough to be considered "mini bosses".

Something like a single hyena from the hyena pack could be considered a mini boss

But it's good to see some positivity :)

It's just a start I guess. It needs improvements and rework. I talked about design rework, it's not only about how they look, but it is also involving the game design part : how they act. But again, it is a very good start and gives you some increased difficulty. I am not in favor of a covering system as the AI is still quite stupid and won't fit with how it is "designed". They are aggressive not defensive.

Indeed. But shouldn't they  be defensive? I mean We are attacking them most of the time right?

But I see the problem AI needs and will get some serious improvements :)

They're just flesh. Grineers are meant to be stupid. Corpus were not soldiers in the first place. Infestation is just... well... brain less.

They are already using cover. Or at least trying to :

I love this channel's videos called "Warframe Random moments". It shows sometimes how dumb the AI can be :)

I guess that would be the next step : getting real special units. As epic as bosses could be. It will happen someday, I'm sure.

Cannot agree more.

Currently one can play for hours trying to get T3 keys and get nothing but T1 and T2 keys.  Makes you feel like you actually regressed in the time you spent playing, especially if you used up some T3 keys in the process.

One should never feel like they regressed after investing time and/or money into a game.

Why do people like writing such walls of text?

I didn't read it, just saw a mention to a better reward system.

Look, the current system is perfect, and I have proof of it: people keep playing the game.

If you don't like it don't play it. That's the only message DE will listen in regards to the RNG thing.

I have no idea how you solo the TIII survival for very long. I could understand soloing for like 5 minutes but after that the life support dries up for me

Well, you have to kill fast. So a lot of ammo (mutation), a frame with an ability that can save your &#! (Nyx, Trinity, Rhino, Frost for example), and luck. The main issue is the mobs that don't appear sometimes. You just have to find some spots where they do and trick the Rng = leave the room, come back and kill plenty of mobs until they don't appear anymore, repeat. Move fast so you can activate O² tanks.

I dispute this assertion.

With powerful weapons and frame, polarized multiple times and using maxed mods, it is quite possible.

I usually equip my Supra*3, Brakk*2, and a melee I need to level up. Nothing huge here. But yeah I guess you need at least to forma your weapon twice to make enough damage. Supra and Brakk being ammo efficient, I don't even need ammo mutation with this. Or I use a restore once.
