Though I haven't tried this on any other ammo mutations yet, I have tested this extensively on Rifle Ammo Mutation. With my Pistol having less than half of it's maximum ammo, when I am equipped with my rifle, it will convert any and all Pistol ammo into Rifle ammo, until the Rifle is full. Once the Rifle is full, I can then start picking up the Pistol ammo for my Pistol. Either that, or switching to the Pistol itself, of course. To me, this sounds as if it is a bit of a bug, as I believe it should only convert the Pistol ammo if the Pistol is actually full. Again, I have yet to test any other ammo mutations, due to either a lack of the mod, or a lack of the weapon, but I can assume that, using the same mechanics, it would function the same for all Ammo Mutations. It's converting unused ammo into rifle ammo because your Rifle is currently equipped. Thus, Pistol Ammo would be "unused" ammo in this case, since you're not using your pistol anyhow. If you have a Pistol Ammo Mutation and have your pistol out, it'll work the same way: it'll convert rifle ammo into pistol ammo. Given that Ammo Mutations mods are used primarily to improve the ammo capacity of ammo-inefficient weapons like the Gorgon or Soma, converting every possible ammo when they're equipped allows them to maximize the amount of ammo you're getting, basically all 4 ammo types can be used instead of having to worry about getting only roughly 3/4ths of the ammo drops because your pistol is still consuming the ammo drops. Considering this particular fact has been mentioned in the Wiki for a while now, not sure how this is a surprise. Ammo Mutation works as intended. Ammo Mutation works as intended. In truth, the wiki states that it should function the way I expected, not the way it currently is functioning(for me). "Will only convert Pistol Ammo to Rifle Ammo if your Pistol Ammo is full." It states this for all of the Ammo Mutations. On very rare occasions, sometimes other players could pick up ammo converted by another player. (even if the second player to pick it up doesn't have an ammo mutation mod.) And let's not forget the miter. It uses sniper ammo but it uses Rifle ammo mutation (still works like it should but it's just odd.) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
