Letter13
You're not the only one. It's really... odd. Silly even. Now I'm not saying it is or it isn't... but I'd hazard a guess that the same mind that put control modules in the void is the same mind that got scavenger ospreys put in to steal your loot. Shanicus
Normal answer - Balance reasons, I'm guessing.Silly answer - well, Orokin Cells are like batteries, right? Maybe the Orokin just didn't leave their batteries all over the place? Also explains why you can find them in the Derelicts, since everything's been ripped up so the Cells are spilled out and that (and they're rare 'cause the Derelicts are well... Derelicts, so most of them are broken cells).
SJunior
Atleast if Cells dropped in Voids we wouldn't have to grin Ruk for ages for Cells after we get all the parts we need for our Primes. Honestly, I don't see any reason for Modules to drop in there. @.@ Putting cells in there would make more sense, And cut down on grinding. A win win, No? (PSN)CrimsonShinku
makes sense to me really, you fight the corrupted, which as said are brainwashed units that found the void. ...controlled by the building, which i assume does so via control modules. the explanation for orokin cells above by shanicus makes enough sense too i guess. of course, i'd give a skin and an alternate helmet for cells to drop from void missions/lockers, i got more neural censors than what i know what to do with them. Once upon a time I was very distressed about these control models. Hyena and Jackal simply refused to drop them sometimes. I'd go days without seeing one. And then one day, It became a running joke that wouldn't end.

Maybe they make same with Cells that is there's to do if they want, but my idea for Orokin Cells is just reduce number that is needed to make another gold painted weapon. faustias
Orokin Cells are already used up in the towers as component for something... Also... make sense someone called these as "raw potatoes". OCs are dropped on the derelict ships since those were probably not used ever.
DoomFruit
It doesn't make sense because control modules are explicitly listed as being a Corpus design. Either their description needs to change or they need to be replaced with something more appropriate (and if DE don't want to make orokin cells too common, they could use morphics instead, which are listed as being "probably Orokin"). yarash2110
The amount of time you need to farm orokin cells for some weapons is just game breaking, and honestly not all of them are worth the cost... Im looking at you akbronco prime
Paradoxbomb
Because their was a shortage of control modules at the time the Void maps were released, so back then it made a lot of sense to add them to the Void drop tables to remedy the shortage. However, now we have a surplus of the things and to be honest I don't think DE has released any items that require a substantial amount of the things, so there ya go. It would be nice if they could replace them with Orokin Cells seeing as it would make a bit more sense, although I get the feeling that a few months down the road the forums will be full of: "Too many Orokin Cells! Oxium, Y U no drop in the Void?! So hard to get this stuff!" Perhaps the Void should simply not have specific item drops and just drop all resources randomly, or maybe switch drop tables every so often so that the resources you get there are always something different. Xandis
Its funny, the description of the Control Modules state that they're of Corpus design. Did the Orokin travel into the future to steal Corpus tech?
Taranis49
Its funny, the description of the Control Modules state that they're of Corpus design. Did the Orokin travel into the future to steal Corpus tech? There's the same issue with alloy plates dropping in the void too, those are Grineer. :-P Anyhoo... It's basically because DE isn't particularly good at developing middle grounds - for a bit of history, as noted, I remember when we were starved for alloy plates way back in U7: Back then, you farmed Kappa not for Oxium, but for Alloy Plates, they were a pretty uncommon drop, only dropped around 20-30 in a bundle, and damn near everything at the time used them - you'd be lucky if you got a couple hundred from a Kappa run... then they made it a common drop, and upped the quantity per drop. The same held true for the Control Modules once U8 and clantech rolled around, you needed quite a few for Fieldron/Det Injectors/Mutagen, but they only dropped one at a time from Neptune, you'd just consistently rush Hyena for a 25% chance of getting a single Module. No kidding, building something like the Ogris or Supra back then basically required rushing Hyena (when there was just the one) a good 20 or 30 times, and you had to do it for each and every clan weapon - it was beyond tedious. Best I can tell, they tried basically using the Void as a "bonus area" for that stuff and overcompensated, the drop frequency went up, as did the number of modules in a drop. Add in the fact that you end up running the Void ad nauseum when hunting for new Primes and well...

Nah, they're just terrible with lore, hence why Vor's Prize or the lore has not progressed any further at all. Also, Neural Sensor and Neurodes were in the wrong places in the past and never changed. I don't know if they make any sense atm after getting rid of the infested, though.

Also, Neural Sensor and Neurodes were in the wrong places in the past and never changed. I don't know if they make any sense atm after getting rid of the infested, though. Not really true. Pretty much nobody was complaining about the inconsistency of Corpus systems like Venus (and later Pluto) dropping Grineer resources like Alloy Plates, ditto for Neptune dropping Ferrite - hell, people still don't complain about it. Incidentally, there wasn't anywhere near as much griping about the lack of cells at the time either, since there were only three Primes to build. All that predated any real griping about consistent lore (hell, Vor's Prize wasn't even around to be made fun of yet). Lore's an excuse: Let's be honest, we didn't care where the stuff we needed dropped from, as long as it dropped. Incidentally, the Neural Sensor/Neurode issue actually would've been fine and far more consistent had they just left them alone: they swapped the descriptions (for whatever reason), but not the picture - note the fact that Grineer implants apparently look like cancerous infested eyes and Infested sensory organs are apparently made of metal. :-P Edited March 16, 2014 by Taranis49
