mr.nuttcase500
please state what your fears about what melee 2.0 is going to be.im afraid that it will move from one flashy set of animations to the next. essentially changing melee from repetitively smashing the E button to repetitively smashing the mouse button.and that it's going to be a rip off of some other game like DMC, only a cheap crappy version.something i'd like to point out, because of the nature of warframe i don't believe it can contain a melee system that can be new and fresh, stick with the pacing of the game, and be compatible with guns.DE please don't rip off some other game for a melee system. there's not much really all that special about your game other than the fact that its PVE. so you need to make a system that's new and memorable. please?seeing as they almost have it done i doubt this will serve any purpose. but ya never know.EDITyes we know your afraid that it won't live up to the hype and your afraid it will get delayed.quan256Guns will still be a more viable choice because1/ Enemies still die too fast. Its like trying to kill a 100 hp enemies with a 1000 dmg sword per swing and 50 dmg per shot gun with a rof 10.2/ Bugs. FEAR THEM3/ More RNG shenanigans with the new mod drops.Demon_MaskI fear that throwing melee weapons will be neglected VKhaunI'm more worried about population than about melee 2.0 at this point. Now that we've waited as long as we have and it's been hyped as much as it has, IMO they're commited to a near-perfect release. If the game turns into a buggy imbalanced mess for the months between Melee 2.0 and End Game, I worry that our population will take a big nose dive as people don't want to spend money, don't want to grind, and don't have anything to do with their current arsenal.I would rather NOTHING happened, than that we got a bad Melee 2.0 release. I would rather they got on a dev stream and said NEVERMIND to the whole thing and scrapped Melee 2.0, and just gave us new damage mods and a basic balance pass instead. Not because I don't care about melee 2,0, but because I do very much care about the health of the game after putting so much money into it.Not on topic enough?I fear they will neglect shooting vs melee balance. If everything can be shot to pieces then we don't need melee. If there are melee enemies that can't be defeated by shooting them with the god tier weapons everyone is using, then they will be so well defended that a player using proper gear for the area will pretty much be required to use melee, forcing a playstyle on them that they may not want.I don't see a middle ground in a game with such a wide open power scale and no content gating, and I haven't heard anything about a gun balance pass or content gating being added to Melee 2.0 or any way to make it viable. My plan for opening day is to solo. :/Deidakucounter point/\Hello no , after they showed us all those animations and stuff ( + some of the code is already in game) , The population would take an even bigger nose dive? They release it buggy , no problem we're here to beta test the game , that's why we're playing in the first place!Of course it won't be perfect. if they released near "perfect stuff" we wouldn't be here. Not releasing melee 2.0 would be the end of this game. 95% of the community including myself want it bad. if you don't like it when it comes don' t use it and stay specialized in ranged combat . Because most of us want something new and don' t want to keep pressing E for the rest of their livesTreble557I fear that they may overlook current game mechanics like heavy mobs knocking you down and S#&$, and shield guys, and just make melee seem flashy but still not worth using over gunsKatakunaI really, really hope there's no RNG in Melee 2.0.Ov3rd0seMy fear is that this "new melee system" will be nothing more than just a few flashy animations. omega_phoenix more than fear i feel curiosity. How DE wil make melee faster, better and more viable than regular weapons? while i go ninja with my new melee system i can feel already a nova with an ogris behind me destroying everything around (just to name one option). just curious at this point, lets see what happens. Ritchel i fear of a specific mellee type to be a MASTER RACE, im sick of the orthos-galatine master race crap ~_~ omega_phoenix the only way i see this melee stuff being good is if your frame can "teleport" or moving really fast from enemy to enemy, giving you the ability to be really faster than the other using weapons. or making an enemy exclusive to kill for the frame using the melee on it (avoiding others to interfere with your combos). no idea what DE will do to solve this weapon VS melee issue (but is so obvious i hope they already saw this happening, and solved it before releasing the new system). Ov3rd0se
There's no RNG now, it's all luck based on percentages on items. I guess if that's what you guys refer as RNG then sure. It will always be there. Like as if they're just going to say, okay guys here are your choices on mods/items that you want, now pick one. That's how they get you to keep playing and spend money. My fear is that this "new melee system" will be nothing more than just a few flashy animations.

faustias
if there's one thing I'd be worry about is previous few OPs of whining threads will still try to find a hole to vomit their whine on about this update. Starting to whine already when they have not tested it yet. There will be like: "See I told you... I told you so!" or "This is not what DE promised." or "This is what you waited for. <point out flaws that can just be dealt with by letting it be there>." "Press 4 to win still win against Melee 2.0 lolololol" ...and few pretentious c***s who would just really find flaws in a non-constructive wall of text feedback. mr.nuttcase500
Idiota One of the big problems I have with a lot of people.
