Question

Base Build:

c13e1e45-fc0a-4d80-931e-8b5b1eb717c5.jpg

Last slot can be Bane, Hammershot, or Infected Clip.

Bane = 280% magnetic * 1.3 = 364% magnetic

HammerShot = 280% Magnetic * 5.6/4.4 = 356.4% Magnetic

Therefore Bane is better than Hammer Shot.

Now we have

Build #1 with Infected Clip

Build #2 with Bane

Calculations: (Boring Math)

#1 280 Mag + 90 Toxin

Toxin alone: 135 Flesh / 67.5 Robotic

490 dmg to shields, then 415 Flesh / 347.5 Robotic

#2 364 Mag

637 dmg to shields, then 364 Flesh/Robotic

Moa

60 robotic, 150 Shield

=28.5% robotic, 71.5% shield

#1 0.306 to break, 20.7 dmg

39.3 @ 347.5 = 0.113 = 0.419 to do 210 = 501.19 DPS

#2 637*.285 + 364 *.715 = 441.8 DPS

Crewmen

60 health, 150 shield

=28.5% health, 71.5% shield

#1 0.306 to break, 41.4 dmg

18.6 @ 347.5 = 0.054 = 0.36 = 583.3 DPS

#2 637*.285 + 364 *.715 = 441.8 DPS

Corpus Tech

700 health, 250 proto shield

=73.5% health, 26.5% proto shield

#1 0.51 sec to break, 68.9 dmg

631.1 @ 415 = 1.521 = 2.031 to do 950 = 467.7 DPS (511.5 if +300 shields from osprey)

#2 637*.265 + 364*.735 = 436.3 DPS (484.1 if +300 shields from osprey)

Fusion Moa

250 robotic, 250 shield

=50% robotic, 50% shield

#1 0.51 sec to break, 34.5 dmg

215.5 @ 347.5 = 0.62 = 1.13 to do 500 = 442.5 DPS

#2 637*.5 + 364*.5 = 500.5

Oxium Osprey

750 robotic, 150 shield

= 83.5% robotic, 16.5% shield

#1 0.306 to break, 20.7 dmg

729.3 @ 347.5 = 2.099 = 2.405 to do 900 = 374.22 dmg

#2 637*.165 + 364*.835 = 409.0 DPS

Results: (numbers listed are % damage multipliers)

Moa

#1 501.2

#2 441.8

Crewmen

#1 583.3%

#2 441.8%

Tech

#1 467.7%

#2 436.3%

Fusion Moa

#1 442.5%

#2 436.3%

Oxium Osprey

#1 374.2%

#2 409.0%

Average Damage

#1 473.8

#2 433.0

Weighted Average Damage

#1 490.1

#2 435.6

Conclusion: It is better DPS to slot +90% Toxin in that last spot than use Bane or Hammer Shot.

The real answer for what's best for that slot is probably Shred though. It's hard to get average numbers how much damage it increases though.

Eh, I considered it, but really the range of Synapse is so short and stuff dies so quickly I didnt think it was worth it.

Its actually pretty simple, it has exactly the same DPS as #2, just with +30% ammo consumption and a chance to hit multiple targets.

So what effect does Heavy Caliber have on it?

What, the Synapse as a whole? Not much in the way of accuracy; the beam is still very accurate and you get tons of damage out of using it. So you should always use it on the Synapse

I understand this is a four-month necro (yeesh) but I'm responding because I actually want to know how Hammer Shot fares with the re-introduction of red crits.

It's not influenced. Red crits are always 2x, regardless of the crit modifier. Unfortunately. Straight +27.27% damage increase, as always.

Critical Delay on the other hand increases the frequency of red crits, but when you factor in the fire rate decrease its a considerable damage loss.

Works out to a 19.2% dmg/ammo increase but a ~24% DPS loss :S
