Darzk Posted March 15, 2014 Share Posted March 15, 2014 Base Build: Last slot can be Bane, Hammershot, or Infected Clip. Bane = 280% magnetic * 1.3 = 364% magnetic HammerShot = 280% Magnetic * 5.6/4.4 = 356.4% Magnetic Therefore Bane is better than Hammer Shot. (PSN)da-link-went-1 Posted March 16, 2014 Share Posted March 16, 2014 where did you learn how to math like that? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
(NSW)Omgwtfl9lbbl Posted March 16, 2014 Share Posted March 16, 2014 Most mathcrafting in video games is actually pretty simple mathematically. It's just figuring out whatever obscured formulas there are to begin with that takes time. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Naftal Posted March 16, 2014 Share Posted March 16, 2014 The real answer for what's best for that slot is probably Shred though. It's hard to get average numbers how much damage it increases though. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It's hard to get average numbers how much damage it increases though. Eh, I considered it, but really the range of Synapse is so short and stuff dies so quickly I didnt think it was worth it. Its actually pretty simple, it has exactly the same DPS as #2, just with +30% ammo consumption and a chance to hit multiple targets. _Kireek_ Posted June 1, 2014 Share Posted June 1, 2014 So what effect does Heavy Caliber have on it? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Noble_Cactus Posted June 1, 2014 Share Posted June 1, 2014 (edited) So what effect does Heavy Caliber have on it? What, the Synapse as a whole? Not much in the way of accuracy; the beam is still very accurate and you get tons of damage out of using it. So you should always use it on the Synapse I understand this is a four-month necro (yeesh) but I'm responding because I actually want to know how Hammer Shot fares with the re-introduction of red crits. Darzk Posted June 1, 2014 Author Share Posted June 1, 2014 I understand this is a four-month necro (yeesh) but I'm responding because I actually want to know how Hammer Shot fares with the re-introduction of red crits. It's not influenced. Red crits are always 2x, regardless of the crit modifier. Unfortunately. Straight +27.27% damage increase, as always. Critical Delay on the other hand increases the frequency of red crits, but when you factor in the fire rate decrease its a considerable damage loss. Works out to a 19.2% dmg/ammo increase but a ~24% DPS loss :S Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Question
Darzk
Base Build:
Last slot can be Bane, Hammershot, or Infected Clip.
Bane = 280% magnetic * 1.3 = 364% magnetic
HammerShot = 280% Magnetic * 5.6/4.4 = 356.4% Magnetic
Therefore Bane is better than Hammer Shot.
Now we have
Build #1 with Infected Clip
Build #2 with Bane
Calculations: (Boring Math)
Results: (numbers listed are % damage multipliers)
Average Damage
#1 473.8
#2 433.0
Weighted Average Damage
#1 490.1
#2 435.6
Conclusion: It is better DPS to slot +90% Toxin in that last spot than use Bane or Hammer Shot.
