Renathy
The RNG has been a pain for the past days and it's hard to ever find what a person wants. It's a repetition of the same prime parts that come clustered in the void and turn you into someone who has an item that every other person already has and it has become mainstream, so to speak. Right now I feel like a hobo asking for money, or a Void addict... "Some rarer would be nice, mate. I can't live without them." We all know how RNG can be annoying at the times, especially because, currently, primes are released for the rarest Void missions, and rarer keys are rare because they rarely drop and seeing how some specific Void tiers are harder to found, it makes it even painful. (For example: you need a Tower III Exterminate, right? Well, farming these kind of keys is going to be rather obnoxious, seeing as higher-level missions drop Tower II missions, mostly, and Exterminate is also a rare Void mission key drop.) The current state of the RNG: Every item has a certain chance to drop, correct? With the Void growing ever bigger, older items are pushed up higher on the percentage drop list, and the new ones stay on the bottom. Farming the new parts will always be annoying because players will be mostly finding older parts, and players will be spending their keys and in the end, they won't have what they want, most of the times, anyways. With the key drop issue I have stated before, it's even harder to farm. The player is very limited to either farming or begging. Farming, of course, is a no. You'll never get the key you want. The only way is to beg on the chat, waiting for people to invite you - which they never will. Most players spend their keys with friends or clan members, or even solo, so you'll rarely see someone inviting you out of pure pity. Some players do announce that they have a room available, and if it's the key you want and if it's rare, you will have the trouble to type the whisper command along its username, and most people will try to battle over it, so to speak. You have to act fast to get invited, otherwise... bye-bye room. And if you join, you'll end up getting another item you don't want. So, here's my suggestion for the current state of the RNG: It's really simple. Every item has a certain percentage, and they all drop based on that percentage. Having an item with higher percentage than others, will be the most found item. Instead, an item that has already dropped would be removed from the drop list, until a new item would be found. This would prevent the same item to drop multiply times. It's very simple: Basically, you found, let's say, a Orthos Prime Blueprint. That item would be removed from the drop list of that specific mission, so you could have access to other item drops that have not yet dropped. In that specific mission, you could then find other items such as the Rhino Prime Systems Blueprint, and the Orthos Prime Blueprint would be back on the list, and the Rhino Prime Systems Blueprint would be removed. What do you guys think of this? Should an item be restricted until another item is found, or should it be restricted until a different certain requirement is met. Throw your thoughts at me. Varzy
How do you account for other users? Say I want to run a T3 exterminate, and go to the recruit channel and pick up some random people to help/share keys. What if one of their 'already acquired' items is what I want? And vice versa? Who gets priority?

Who gets priority? Yeah, I think I overlooked that point. Got any ideas? Maybe the key bearer gets priority or every item drop is unique to the player? Un1337ninj4
Welp, RNG is a great idea in my opinion. It shouldn't be Prime parts every run. That said the real issue is being worked on as we speak. Though your suggestion is superb. Edited March 16, 2014 by un1337ninj4
7grims
I think DE made allot of good work toward RNG drop tables, yet it is still not enough. That and the fact tiers of difficulty exist. (not that they are hard) but the fact of all prime parts have the same quality. I would say more prizes per each tear of difficulty. Also, idk who is this community who asked for the void keys to be removed, but that wasn't smart, specially in void survival, those were sweet sweet drops. In the end DE need to make even more dramatic changes, I keep saying the total removal of RNG in drop tables is possible, and should be considered. TheGrayJacket
Getting new Prime gear is never going to be easy. It would not be beneficial to Prime Access project. It could not be satisfactory for grinders players. After around 10 hours spent on survival I was really considering buying Prime Access and I would probably do so if currency changes were not that big (1 USD=3 PLN). Financial support should be sufficial for developers, especially, when their game is free to play. If you don't have luck you should probably tone your hype down. After a while, drop rates should be more acceptable. Still, I await the day when someone creates system that doesn't rely on randomness. Smart token system maybe? I don't know - I've never worked as game dev. Don't burn out out there. ~TGJ
nickelshark
Rick James *@##$! lol sorry had to do that when I saw Tyrone. With all joking aside, i think this is a great Idea and the problem of others already having that part and you not, and therefore the part they have would not drop and you not getting it, a solution might be that the item won't be taken off the list until all four players or however many people in the squad gets said item. That would just require some more coordination from players to make sure they get people in there group who have what they already have.
