Tulzscha moving this to Weapon Feedback in 3.... 2...

It'll happen, I'll sigh, and the thread will get buried away like every other one of my threads he moves.

Either way, I don't exactly remember DE telling us why they did it, or, indeed, even mentioning that it was nerfed. Rather, they stealth nerfed it.

Oh come on you all know why DE nerfed it already. That weapon was waaaay to OP. It just had to much potential; it could have surpassed soma, penta, latron prime, etc. If left unchecked, it could have been the dominating weapon in warframe

Am I the only one that feels like all he says is "Moved to the proper section" and wishes he'd be more social. On the topic, how do you nerf the lato it wasn't really strong compared to others anyways, like every weapon they have their pros and cons I dont see many pros for the lato

Lato was probably better than the MK-1 and Braton again. and we can't have that, Lato being able to hit the side of a barn and dealing okay Damage is too OP, gotta make players want to use their spraycannons that are called the Braton.

way back when i started, i shot the Braton like, 3 times, switched to my Sidearm to test it as well, and never used the Braton again.

because the Lato actually shot straight, while the Braton missed where i was aiming all the time, wasting lots of potential Damage.

I only used the Braton as a panic gun. When I was overwhelmed by groups of enemies, I'd spray & pray while running my &#! off. God, I was a terrible Tenno back then.

Does DE even pay attention know about these un-nerf Lato threads? There have been quite a bit of these thread floating around.

The Lato was never OP it was just "perfect" back in damage 1.0. No one ever complained it was op, everyone said it is a solid pistol for a newbie, and certainly not the best.

Even though I am not a founder or a close beta player I think it is a slap in the face to these players because nerfing the lato meant they had to bring the other types in line with it.

The Lato / Aklato were way overnerfed. I'm trying to level the Aklato for mastery now (only used the single Lato back when I started) and its painful to use. I know its a starter weapon and all, but it shouldn't take 5-6 headshots to kill a level 1 Grineer Lancer.

I don't mind it not being viable at high levels, getting through Earth / Jupiter without a potato / forma would be good enough, but if the Lato is staying nerfed I wish there would be a "Lato 2.0" or something similar. Looking through all the sidearms we have now, there isn't really a good generic, unremarkable pistol. By "generic" I mean semi-auto, hitscan, average damage, average magazine size, average reload, low recoil, basically everything the Lato was back in Damage 1.0.

The closest example I can think of is http://warframe.wikia.com/wiki/Acrid, except that its not hitscan, does non-physical damage and requires clantech.

I just don't understand the decision process that led to it. Yeah, people have mentioned that they did more damage than the Braton Mk-1 but did anyone really give a flying monkey fart about that?

By nerfing it DE gain nothing yet upset the admittedly low number of us that like and still use those guns. Zero gain vs measurable loss = why waste development time doing this? Bonkers decision :(

This thread reminded me that I need to rank up my Braton Mk1 at some point. If it still works, must've collected a sweet layer of dust by now...

TBH when I was new I thought my Mk1 was so terrible compared to the Lato because it took me forever to get my hands on Serration, while I had a lot more luck with Hornet Strike. Still sad they nerfed it though, if they'd left it alone I would be using my Lato Prime a lot more often...

Bought Mk1 and Lato back today to relevel (I was dumb and sold them before I got them to 30, experience system is kind of bad as a noob) and my god.

I've leveled the Lato up to 4, Mk1 up to 6. Here's the catch:

I play Solo to rack up kills, using Lato most of the time, only to find myself constantly being overrun by enemies. Of course, I switch to Mk1 and even that starter weapon is better than the Lato.

Nothing can match the Lato in crappyness, not even the worst of melee weapons. I started a little bit before it was toned down, and even then I found the Bratons more useful.

(please) Bring the Lato back up to something new players can use, it makes me not want to start over to experience everything again.

DE's unannounced hammering on the Lato and lack of response to threads against it rather angers me as much as the Broken Lights do.
