Hi everyone,

 

This game is the only reason why I keep using  Windows. Nowadays I just hate it, and want to switch to Ubuntu. (Yes, a Linux one, please, accept.) Since Steam and a couple of Steam games are available on it, and I can find alternate (or even better) variants for my current softwares, I would like to switch.

 

Any hope for a LInux version of the game?

 

(I know about the Wine. I know it's possible, but I personally haven't managed to play that way, so it would be just better having a native Linux version.)

second link is the current status according to wine_hq -- and it doesn't look like it's running. but with linux, results may vary...

 

no idea if cedega/gametree linux/transgaming (or whatever the hell they're calling themselves these days) has any plans or not.

 

like you, i'd love to see a linux port running. even if it's done through steam. 

best bet, right now, is to work with wine and see what you can get running.

I see on the second link, that it has last time got a "Bronze" rating. What could this mean?

from what i see here, there isn't a version that is currently functional.

that doesn't mean you can't get it working with effort. (probably quite a bit)

but it doesn't look good.

 

I'd hope that DE would eventually work with valve to get a functional build up and running via steam. But until SteamOS and steamboxen become functional i doubt there is much pressure to do so.
