Earth Infestation Defense Missions Impossible To Finish Without A Zephyr

Infested mobs keep getting stuck at the top of the cliff where they all pour from and I had to bring a friend who has a Zephyr to jump up there to kill the mook that gets stuck up there each. and. every. wave. That and for some reason my friend takes damage if he jumps too high. Is DE trying to make these missions impossible to finish? What the hell. I also noticed this happening on infestation defense maps that take place on those snowy corpus tilesets where mooks keep running around this ledge.

I killed them with oberon's reckoning which seems to have no height limit and when playing as ash i used a penta to bomb them. Although it took me like 3 aborted missiones until i figured out those techniques... lame...

It actually is possible to do without a Zephyr. All you have to do is climb on top of the tallest tower thing near the cilff edge, then do a slide jump off that and wall run on the ledge to climb up.

 

Though this shouldn't be happening. It always happens on round five when I was doing defense missions on Earth, and it is always a crawler that gets stuck up there.

I tried but my jumps seem to keep falling short. I did manage to get on top of the ledge on the south side and attempted to just make my way up to the north side where the infested mook was stuck but electric fences kept me in.

@Orbister: I'll try it with my Oberon then.

I had the same issue today. Something as getting stuck in one of the spawn areas and no one was able to get up there and kill it.

One mission a Nova was on the team and just used Wormhole to get the little bugger, but without her we couldn't do anything but restart and hope it didn't happen again.

This is also a problem on the desert tileset (Phobos?) where on the defense maps there are doors so high up that enemies just get stuck and idle in forever. It's possible to access them still, just extremely obnoxious every single wave. Straggling enemies need to just be force killed by the game if their pathing can't reach the players, I don't think a single trooper is going to make or break a wave.

They send so much at us fellow Tenno... and all it takes is one enemy hiding on top of a ledge, (or a Broken Lamp) to break us...

 

 

Now on topic, I've encountered this many times on Earth with infested. Being somebody who hasn't build a Nova to use Worm Hole it makes it a pain in the &#! even when it does happen. I hope this gets fixed soon.

Yep, just had this problem with Corpus on Dunlo.

 

Didn't happen at first, but after that it was every wave.  Last enemy (stuck at the entry point up a cliff) was an Oxium Osprey, so they problem even extend to flying opponents.

 

If an enemy hasn't moved or fired in the last minute, it should despawn and respawn at a different point.

A couple of nav mesh issues have crept into the Earth Defense level that have been fixed now. These fixes should be part of the update on Wednesday. Thanks for the report guys.

Will there ever be a 'variation' to the earth defense map?

Mobs getting stuck is like a big hit of nostalgia. I remember the old days of Xini Defense in its first incarnation. Listening at each door for Infested sounds, hoping someone had a big weapon like a fragor or scindo to ground pound and take it out, because the mag was out of energy.

Should the Earth set get an expansion there will definitely be a new defense map. I do not belive this will be anytime soon though seeing as the set just arrived and got expanded.

Any possible eta on when this might be fixed on PS4? It would be great if we could get a small, fast release patch to address this, especially considering how many Alert missions end up being Earth Defense. Makes it unplayable without a Zephyr.

Why would you leave your Nova at home ?  This is what happens to haters... and to silly rabbits who forma away all Nova's powers except Mprime.

I'd rather be stuck in a mission I can't complete than having the whole game invalidated with the press of one button.

 

To the OP. Couldn't you just crouch-wallrun up there? That bug still exists so you might as well use it to until they come up with a fix for stuck spawns.

I play Zephyr, and have been really frustrated with earth levels that damage me when I start going too high. It's really annoying, and limits the usefulness of my frame. I have enough continuity that I hit that limit with just one Tailwind.

Some people, believe it or not, don't want to play Warframe on easymode...so Nova is left at home.
