I have the same amount of graphics memory you do, and I can run that on high. I have a Intel HD 4000, and I'm running on a laptop so you should be able to do the same. taiiat Posted March 16, 2014 Share Posted March 16, 2014 if you're using integrated Graphics, High is out of the question, as that uses more than a Gigabyte of vRAM on it's own, with my last GPU which had 1g of dedicated vRAM, it wasn't enough to store it all, making for a lot of swapping, which slowed down performance. Medium might work well, but it's hard to say. what grade of processor is this? if it's some later generation processors, their iGPU's have pretty reasonable resources, and therefore can do quite a lot. based on those very limited specs you have mentioned though, i'd imagine it's probably an older generation Integrated Chip, meaning it's probably got 128MB of dedicated Memory, meaning Medium could result in spotty performance, due to the amount of swapping the processor would be doing with Visual Memory. there are other settings that will also greatly affect your performance in the same manner, mainly Shadows and Anti-Aliasing - both of which are also pretty Memory hungry, specifically Visual Memory. all in all, knowing exactly how much dedicated Memory your Integrated Chip / iGPU has to work with dedicated, and trying to accommodate around that, will result in a performance boost overall, especially when new rooms and Enemies are being drawn. knowing exactly what the CPU, Integrated Chip / iGPU is will help out considerably, as we can just read the Manufacturer specifications on those parts to know what it is deployed with. the Direct X Diagnostic tool will serve well enough for this purpose. knowing that the 'Processor' entry on the System tab and what the Name / Chip Type on the Display tab says will go a long way to narrowing down exactly what Resources you have available. your experience will differ significantly from others if your Integrated Chip is older generation, unlike "AEP8FlyBoy's" HD4000 iGPU, which has enough resources available to it to act as a pretty decent GPU.
