The 4 contenders enter the large Arena, with strange panels and vents, they start moving, shifting and venting sand to match the sands and terrain of Phobos. the Sargent stands up and via Loudspeakers

 

"Good People of the Galaxy! Welcome to the Crucible! Our 4 combatants shall test their worth and prove that they shall be champions! Remember every 3 rounds they can leave the arena and claim their prize or they can risk for greater reward! For the first round, they will face the pests from the planet of Phobos, they fire stingers, bury themselves in the sands and have the most hideous faces ever! Release the Skates!"  

 

And 12 mature skates rush into the arena and begin to hunt their targets

Chirping excitedly, the waiter MOA watched intently from the viewing deck in the bar. It had never seen desert landscapes before, and its AI from a robot-dog children's toy was making it more curious by the minute. As more of the patrons got up and headed to the railings to watch, the bartender supposed that the MOA could use a break, and cleaned the glasses by himself.

"Here we go!" shouted Lia, lifting a few skates off the ground with her magnetism while Katya killed them with a single shot each with her Aklex.

As the fight began the Grineer could already feel the adrenalin pumping, shouting in Grineer to the Heavy on field, "Don't let the Tenno show you up! Let them see the true strength of the Grineer!!"

 

He watches the fight unfold as he has not yet been to Phobos or meet any of its monstrous wildlife, he feels a good opportunity to learn how to kill them easily from this.

While the combatants fight, Waitresses hand out items such as Ammo, health kits or energy orbs for the crowd to reward it's entertainers "Appease the crowd and receive it's awards!" Shouted the Sargent

"You heard the man! Huge displays!" shouted Katya as Lia forced all the skates out of the sand and she slammed her hand into the ground, releasing a pulse of energy from her Frame, revealing the weakest spots on them. Spinning around, she landed shots into each of the skates weak spots, killing them instantly.

These were mere Desert Skates, so it was no surprise that several of the more seasoned veterans among the crowd seemed unimpressed. But the first-time tourists to the Crucible were quite entertained, and began shouting for blood and carnage. The Mag Prime's display of magnetic might caught the eye of a Corpus mechanic, who tossed the blue energy sphere in his hand towards her.

 

"More!" he cried. His shout was echoed by the gang of Corpus Crewmen around him.

As the Skates start to drop by the fighters, an alarm bell rings and more Skates appear, at least 15 or 20 drop though the vents as the Sargent shouts "Round 2! Fight!"

"You guys can sit this one out!" shouted Lia as she magnetized a few skates and smashed them into the reinforced glass above, smearing them on the viewing screen. Katya scooped one into the air with a kick and fired into it's soft underbelly before firing at another that was rearing to attack.

"Thank you.", came the reply of the Corpus Tech. To him, letting the Tenno do most of the work a they wished would let him conserve his energy for when the challenges actually became difficult enough to require his aid. He was sure the Tenno could handle it for a while. Still, he kept his Ice Leader upgrade active to slow the Skates, making their movements sluggish and thus making them easier to strike. Not that Skates were known for being particularly elusive either.

 

Not wanting to disappoint, Anastasia joined in. She wasn't about to let the Tenno hoard all the glory, especially with Grineer in the stands watching. She pulled a fragmentation grenade from a container which she used to store her grenades and primed it as she neared one of the Skates. She grabbed it by the tail, preventing it from aiming the stinger at her before pulling it partway out of the sand. Next thing anyone knew, she shoved the primed grenade into the Skate's mouth before spinning like a windmill for a moment to build up momentum. At the end of her spin, she released the Skate, tossing it at another of its kind which had surfaced. As the two Skates collided, the grenade went off, resulting in a shower of blood, flesh and bones.

 

Anastasia didn't stop there but switched out her Gorgon for her Vulkar. The area just below the base of the tail was one of the vulnerable points of submerged Skates and with a precision weapon like the Vulkar, striking that point would be easy. Striking the soft underbelly would be preferred but it was better than waiting for them to surface. She got to work striking down the Skates one by one with her Vulkar.

Sargent Vega smiled as he watches the Tenno and the Grineer perform extreme brutality! more disappointed with the cowardly Ice Leader CORPUS Tech. but he smiled as 25 more Skates flood into the arena! "Final round! Fight!" Harad would soon find himself surrounded by 4 Desert Skate!

 

Harad looked around at the Skates surrounding him and pulled out his Supra. He pointed to one of the Skates and the Fusion Drone with him designated that as its own attack target, leaving the other three to be dealt with by Harad. Combining the effectiveness against armoured foes that the Supra had with the slowing aura Harad's upgrades gave him, he and his attack drone made short work of the Skates two at a time until the four were dead from a combination of close range gunfire from the Supra and the Drone's Orokin-inspired energy rifle.

 

Anastasia stopped to reload after the fourth Skate she shot with her Vulkar. She thought that an engineer definitely needed to revisit the Vulkar's loading system because of how long it took to reload it for such a small magazine. She was largely able to shrug off the spines the Skates shot at her because of her armour but once she was finished with her reload, she rushed one of the Skates while pulling out her Gorgon. She grabbed the creature by the tail and pulled it out of the sand and onto its back. While it squirmed on the sand, trying to flip itself back over, she emptied a spray of rounds from her Gorgon into the soft underbelly.

"Let em have it!" shouted Lia, pulling the rest of the skates into the air, allowing Harad, Anastasia and Katya to finish the rest of them off in one go.

The Skates' blood stains the sands and the walls, they become buried by the sands as the scenery changes once more, becoming more woodland and Swampland-ish. 

 

The observant of the patrons may notice that in private balconies sat Captain Vor -smoking a pipe- , Lech Krill and even Nef Anyo. they weren't cheering but they were impressed. The Sargent stood up and smiles "Next we have a team of dangerous bandits captured by our honoured guest, Captain Regis Vor!" and the Captain waved one hand "These bandits are bloodthirsty, Cruel and hungry for violence! release the Black Skanas!"

 

And the bandits quickly rush, armed with Grineer weaponry and coming in different shapes and sizes! they all look to be Grineer except for the mass amounts of cybernetics and increased degeneration. The smaller thinner ones -which appear to be the fastest- are armed with Marelocks Vipers or cleavers. The Average -Standered troops perhaps- looking ones appered to have a Kateks, Gratakas, Grinlocks or Hinds  and a Kraken or a Gremlin, while the big ones -which appers to be the tanks- have Gorgons, Ingis, Orgis, Miters or Hek Shotguns!

Harad noticed Sergeant Nef Anyo, Captain Vor and Lieutenant Lech Kril watching and felt a bit uneasy. Not so much because of the two Grineer commanding officers but because of Nef Anyo. Now he was sure at least one of his superiors was watching and he wanted to impress. That might result in some good progress towards a promotion and the associated pay rise.

 

When the next round began, Harad watched as their adversaries entered the arena. Now he was fairly sure of the challenge. Skates were nothing but the bandits would pose a threat. His first priority was looking for cover as the ranged weapons of the bandits would chew through his Snow Globe quite quickly.

 

Anastasia looked around at the bandits and as the round started, she opened fire using her Gorgon. Harad's Snow Globe wouldn't stand up to sustained gunfire but that Cold aura of his would make the smaller ones easier to hit as she sprayed bullets at them. She too had noticed the commanding officers in the private balconies and it served to reaffirm her desire to impress her superiors.

Katya channeled her energy into her derringers and leaped into a group of the bandits before killing each of them with one shot each.

Acrim walks toward the racket and pushing through the crowd to see some tenno,grineer and corpus fighting in different arenas. "wow this looks really fun!" he says as he watches the carnage.

As his shouts give him a thirst, the Lancer returns to the bar for another drink. He places payment for it on the bar as hw waits.

Harad leaned against his attack Drone as he had a moment to catch his breath. He guessed that even more of those thugs would be coming in the next round and wanted to take the moment to rest if even for a minute.

 

Anastasia was going strong still because of her Life Leech Leader upgrade which allowed her to siphon off health from enemies, allowing her to keep herself in good condition. She was just getting into the challenge now, so to speak. She did wonder why General Sargas Ruk hadn't shown up to watch but she guessed being the number one artefact hunter for the Grineer had him too busy.

Right when Taranis stepped through the door, he got a weird feeling that he hadn't felt since he set foot on a Derelict Ship: uncertainty. He immediately noticed that there were already some combatants in the arena. He thought it was odd that there was a Grineer, Corpus, and two Tenno in the field. They didn't seem to be shooting each other which made him curious.

 

I guess I should go take a seat somewhere as I wait for these four to be done with their run.

 

Taranis wanders a bit longer before finding the bar and a Grineer Lancer sitting alone.

 

A drink before entering wouldn't hurt...It seems the four of 'em will last a while so might as well.

 

He takes a seat next to the Lancer and tries to get a good view of the arena.

The crowd roared. The Heavy Gunner caught the eye of the waiter MOA, who was fascinated by her heavy firepower. Picking up a load of rifle ammo boxes with his kinesis gun, the MOA lobbed the ammunition over the railings and onto the arena below.

 

 

The bartender remained at the bar, watching the MOA as he wiped the glasses. At least the little guy was having fun.
