I live for nightmare alerts, even if I have all the mods. Survival I don't find that enjoyable though :(

I'd rather better AI AND more bullet sponges. both. A new planet that has all lvl40-60 mission would be a good start, with random bosses spawning in invasions

Good games don't require players to limit themselves to have fun. Low-level challenges in RPGs or Pacifist runs in stealth games like the Metal Gear or Deus Ex series are options to take the game to another level of enjoyment. But beneath that, there is stil a base game that most players can complete and be satisfied with. WF has none of that.

i'm gonna have to disagree. there's no game out there that you or I can't master. I bet you have hundreds of hours dropped on warframe, you're just so used to it that the base game is not hard at all so you have to use your imagination to bring back that newbie feeling. what's wrong with that?

I've spent a 100+ hours on dark souls, it's gotten so easy to me that the only way i can make it hard again is to purposely gimp myself in whatever creative way I (or other people) come up with.... or to pvp.

basically what i'm trying to say is that no matter what kind of content they add, the hardcore WF players will tear through it instantly. it's only an A.I.

the only "solution" to this would be pvp where you face an actual human that can think and react to you.

The numbers game is a dead end. Just increasing stats for guns and enemies will never lead to any kind of satisfactory balance, or to anything other than the uttermost boring kind of challenge. It is like pissing in your pants to keep yourself warm. This aspect is true wether you have 10 or 1000 hrs in the game.

I guess it comes down to what kind of experience you want from this game too though.

For me at least, what I found alluring with this game in the first place was the ninja factor. The idea that the tenno are a clandestine group who rely on things like tactics, movement, stealth and yes - superior force, but situational - meaning that a group like the tenno would and should loose against these enemies in an open warfare like scenario.

Not the other way around. These days we are warrior gods descending from the heavens, who don’t give a f*** about any kind of scenario because we just hit “4” and win,  unless of course we run into a wall of stats.

Playing nightmare missions, specifically the no shields mode, is kind of revealing with regard to how much better or “ninja” the gameplay could be. You have to be lucky though, to be in a varied squad who actually wants to play the mode - no rhinos rushing with ironskin or anything.

Here, a lot of the things that usually don’t matter, actually matters. Like your #1 and 2 powers, how you move and play together, etc. Suddenly a regular sabotage mission can be very exciting. Its not perfect, but its a start - I seriously think that this mode could be a basis for reworking the gameplay. Now imagine a little bit o shields to take the edge off + difficulty and challenge increased by:

- enemy types

- enemy tactics and A.I

- enemy numbers to a degree

- environment

- events (like triggering alarm)

- conditions (like a broken frame, or like completing before enemy reinforcements or G3 or something arrive)

Point is: NOT challenge by numbers.

A lot of good ideas for this kind of scaling in the thread already.

I think it would be nice if the core gameplay was more like that. You could still have the god mode / all out war missions - but they should be the exception not the rule.

Theres a survey going round now, where DE is asking what missions we like the most and least. As gameplay is now, you would be forgiven for answering that most of the core missions are bad. Only most of these mission are good in concept, and very fitting for the tenno I might add. It is the execution that suffers - the gameplay is the problem. I think its high time this game got back to its ninja roots :-)

Well they are in a catch 22. Don't use any powers and things get nasty fast at higher levels, but if you pull the throttle back on the boom boom spalts, you are going to lose player base who love that kind of thing. They need to slowly chip powers down (looking at you m prime and blessing) at a rate that isn't drastic enough to drive away too many players.
