If Plat Were Cheaper, Would You Buy It?

So, we all know that the Warframe market is pretty crazy, asking for quite a bit of plat for even the cheapest of weapons. The solution would obviously be to discount the market prices themselves, but consider this;

If the prices for buying plat were dropped, would you buy it more often, or at all?

What if better plat discounts coupons were more widely available from login rewards? I'm personally hunting the elusive 75% off coupon by skipping days, but that's just me.

For sake of conversation, also share how much plat you've bought up to this point, to establish a reference.

People already buy it, don't see the point.

As for dropping via login reward, no.

Its already plausible to trade for plat, I don't see the need to make it easier to obtain and potentially rob DE of its source of income.  Not that you really need it, since Plat is the currency to bypass time investment.

You are going to spend one of two commodities in warframe:

Time, grinding, gathering, looking for things (also things to trade for actual plat, dont throw that Ohh noez teh slots argument)

or Platinum, bypass the time grinding and gathering.

I only buy platinum when there is a: 1. Steam Summer sale or 2. When it's reduced as a login reward or 3. When it's cheaper included in a pack. Otherwise you can just forget it. I don't have the money to spend on it. I rarely buy Station Cash because of how much it is.

I can't justify paying £6.00 for a gun. I just can't. (In reference to Planetside 2.)

As for warframe... :<

Same, stopped playing PS2 for that reason. Warframe let's us make guns, that can be free, note also they are creative.

They are definatly already getting enough purchases. I my self have bought Master Founder, Inferno PA and Stom PA. The most I have ever sent on a game, and i know otheres who have done the same. Also the fact people are trading mods for 600 plat means that someone has bought it.

When the game is more polished and not a giant grind fest then maybe.

Pretty much this. If this game ever lives up to even a fraction of its potential then I'd gladly support the Devs by spending money on the game. Until that' happens though, assuming it ever will, I'm just going to stick with trading as my source of plat.

Where did I suggest otherwise?

Nobody buys weapons in warframe. What chu you talkin' about foo'?

I really see little to no point in buying plat for me. Maybe in 75% sale and I actually needs more plat. I mean realistically, I am fine sitting on over 6k plat and if I see any need for more, I can easily make more. The last thing I want though, is for the plat price to come down. We dont need a hyperinflation in the trading market.

I still don't understand how/why people spend around £20 on plats to buy mod cards from players... It just boggles the mind.

If DE brought out a massive cosmetic update (like armour customization and updated physics etc...) I imagine I would buy plat at its current price. If it were cheaper in general I may be more inclined but there just isn't anything worth buying at this moment in time.

Honestly? Saves a lot of time, cores and credits (as they start to take a hammering if maxing out the ones that count). Reduces the grind overall. People use their mods so it's not as if it's a waste. To compare to to real life, people spend a lot more £'s on going out for one night and getting wasted, with no success and with nothing to show (lol).

Well that depends on the way is which it's cheaper:

A.) Each platinum pack in the store is discounted from its current cost.

(ie. instead of $4.99 for 75 plat, you pay $2.99 for 75 plat)

OR

B.) Each platinum pack in the store has more platinum in it for the same price it has currently.

(ie. instead of $4.99 for 75 plat, you pay $4.99 for 150 plat)

Depending on which of those two you mean, the resulting effect varies greatly. In my personal opinion, I would choose neither of those options, and instead I would increase the number of purchase packs for a variety of intervals. That way DE doesn't have to sacrifice the rate at which they charge for platinum, but people who wish to spend a much more specific amount on platinum have more options to do so.
