though i really like alot of secondaries in the game, i have never felt that real feel for one of them (love). But i only just built the marelok and man i love it, so, so much fun to use and i instantly felt this is the secondary i love.

Before i was always switching between my other liked guns being:

1. akbolto

2. stug

3. despair

4. balistica

5. bronco prime

Now i have the Boltor prime - Love, Orthos Prime - Love, and Marelok - Love

Really enjoying the weapons DE has given us in the recent months. Keep it up :D

Everyone knows that the Detron is the master race for long range plasma wall spam.

It is literally so much lols when using it against Grineer.

I am working on the marelok it's just that I have like no polymer and too lazy to farm the 5k required. :L

If the soma is allowed to exist with nothing but a rank 6 mastery lock on it then it's a fair assumption to say that the marelok's power level should be left untouched. It's a great pistol and the only thing that would put it out of favour would be Twin Mareloks.

I dont mind the Marelok being where it is in terms of damage.

It IS a research weapon after all...something that should be classified for late game material (a LOT of research weapons need buffs...) along side Primes, Wraiths, and Vandals. (Note...should...this is all my personal opinion.).

What I DO mind...is that Grinlok is just so much inferior stats-wise..when it is also a research weapon...of the same make and model.

Grinlok could use a buff to being in the same zone as the Marelok.

The Vulkar could use a bit of something while theyre digging in the code as well.

Yeah cause its overpowered. Once it gets nerfed, you will let it fall like a hot potato and get the new released OP weapon.

This is a man.............. Who doesnt have the Marelock

I fear the nerf, but I completely understand. After 3 forma, it has over 6k damage per shot, without crits or damage bonuses. I have my Dual Magnus waiting for that day...

I don't see a reason the Marelock would be nerfed.  While the single shot damage is massive, the sustained DPS (assuming Warframe Builder is correct) is similar to several other weapons; the Synapse comes to mind.   And if you look at burst damage (no idea how that number is calculated) the Akvasto blows it away at nearly twice (~1.7x) the damage.

The Marelock is fun to shoot and has devastating per shot damage, but there are plenty of other weapons that can achieve similar results over the course of a given gunfight.  (not counting PVP, no idea about that).

Burst damage is simply the average DPS without factoring in reload time. Sustained DPS factors in reload time.

Detheroc has a point. It may not be the only reason you love the gun, sure, but you're kidding yourself if you don't think it's part of the reason. A gun that is naturally really strong and obviously so naturally feels good to use because it gives you a higher sense of power.

Numbers (DPS, etc) and style (animation, appearance, sound)  are the only things that are likely to matter in the context of such a game as Warframe.  So of course its 'kill power' is a huge part of the appeal.  But I don't think I can agree with  Deathroc in saying  that it is "overpowered".  As I said, several other weapons offer the same or better DPS.

As far as someone loving it maybe they are factoring in what types of combat they like too.  With the Marelok it takes a calm hand to use best due to rate of fire.  For me using the Marelok it's more of a Dirty Harry calm in the face of chaos sort of thing.  Taking time to down each target with cold blooded precision.  But if I want that murderous blaze of glory feel, something like the AkVastos is a good choice.  Digging the AkBoltos as well but getting bogged down forma-ing the crap out of three secondaries while working on a new primary.

It's a single fire handgun with only 6 magazine per clip. If you ever missed a shot, which will happen a lot of time, your dps will goto hell. At least, Brakk is a shotgun and it's easier to hit the target. Max

There's somethign about the grineer.... they make some badass pistols.

Depending on loadout I use Marelok when I have a short to medium range primary and Brakk when I have a long range primary.

You have to give it to the grineer .... they know their pistols.

I totally agree I have used almost every secondary in the game including the Brakk and the Detron and none of them I actually like enough to even consider putting a forma into but the Marlok is defiantly my favourite now such a great gun and not even for its power it looks amazing, has a badass reload animation and feels just like I imagine a sworn of rifle would.

Also I cannot stop thinking "I am Murlok!!!" when ever I use it.

Unless your target is outside of 5 feet, then your Brakk DPS drops like a rock. Oh, the Brakk is the ultimate for pure DPS close range fun, but at range, the Marelok is the superior firearm, with good accuracy and no damage falloff. And honestly, that's what makes the Marelok superior to the Brakk; it's an all-purpose firearm with amazing DPS at all ranges.  The Brakk is amazing up close, but at long range, you might have better luck with your primary.

Also, poor Grinlock lever rifle. Less damage and less bad-&#! than it's secondary cousin.

When they nerf this weapon there will be a lot of broken hearts.

Possible, but I'm not so sure it'll get nerfed.  Giving the Grinlok a bit of a boost seems like a better idea, and semi-auto weapons in general should really be taking the lead in single shot damage.

But who knows, could happen.
