MFCC1989
So, I found myself thinking about how lonely the game feels. It's basically eery ships, space stations and outposts. It feels like the existing factions are in constant war and fighting for survival because everything else in the universe is dead and there's not much else to do other than that. However, as terrible as things may be in the Warframe universe, there has to be somewhere where people still live. Having said that, I think it'd be awesome to have a new tileset based on a city. Something sort of like Star Wars's Coruscant or Mass Effect's Illium. I know having the Tenno run around in the middle of civilians would be very hard to develop, so what I'm suggesting is to create a tileset that's less "outpostish" and where there's something actually going on in the background (like flying cars, the distant noise of bustling crowds or even people walking around in the distance etc.) and where the rooms and corridors look like somewhere that might actually be or have been lived in (such as apartments, living quarters, squares, urban gardens, etc.). Here's a few examples (some of them are from games that are very different from Warframe but they're good examples of futuristic cities in games): What do you think? Pandoran_Stallion
If they do corpus cities or even a corpus indoctrination temple it would be amazing! Imagine Zephyr and Valkyr's mobility in those open spaces...
Muminidas
Cities in the Warframe universe? Hmmm, Grineers have probably dark, industrial cities focused on creating all sorts of Grineer machines and stuff. I can't rly belive that they live in such bright and futuristic cities (more like destroyed cities from Matrix movies - those above the ground or any other post-apocaliptic sci-fi movies). Corpus - IIRC may have some sort of a similiar cities, but we only now there are Corpus outposts, Gas facilities on Jupiter and indoctrination temples on Neptune. Low chances for Corpus.... Infested? Meh.... Tenno? Yes. We have stations/hubs orbiting around certain planets - so the social hubs that are coming, but I guess without flying cars since we are ninja(nin!nin!). Others? People other than Grineer and Corpus? Well, there was this lil' lore about colonies on Mars during Gradivus Dilemma(now we know Grineer took them over). Probly some citizens lived there. Still there's no info that there are actually other cities than those I mentioned in Warframe universe.
Liminal
Yes. I want to see where the normal civilians live in the grimdark future. Are they cyberpunk cities? Space opera cities? Futuristic space feudal cities? But the bottom line is: there have to be cities. Human (if they can be called that) population has to be extraordinarily high since they conquered the whole solar system. And the way civilization goes is that people usually gather in the best spots, forming cities.
S.T.M.P.D
Well, I think we can all agree that Warframe needs some civilian life. Perhaps Tenno could do missions alongside guerilla resistance, or try to open up places for refugees in Badlands. Grineer xenophobia means that everyone there would be Grineer, and probably in the military - so no thank you. But Neptune could have Corpus gas cities with the indoctrination temples at their heart. The boss could be like the high priest or something. It wouldn't be utopian, very blocky, looming, where civilians live in fear of having their sons taken away, where the shadow of the Corpus looms over all. HideorEscape
I have created a topic about how could the Neptune tile set look like. Not like cities but more like floating giant mother ships. Check it out. https://forums.warframe.com/index.php?/topic/166835-neptune-tile-set-how-could-it-look-like-with-screenshots/
(PSN)atpbx
Cities, factories space docks, prisons, storage facilities, actual enemy space ships. So many mission types unexplored, so many different options for levels.
Wolfstorm18
Keep dreaming, because I think this will not happen. They will keep releasing new weapons, new frames, one more OP than the other. There will be hundreds of threads asking for nerfs, and few players will be pointing out that we will be playing on the same grineer galleon each time a new weapon or frame cames out. Thats the reason why the new frame is a droid and not a human, because only a droid will be playing the same scenario over and over many times a day to farm for a new rare item or level the newest grineer scrap launcher. If one player ask for a new map and a hundred others ask for a new nerf what do you think will have priority for the devs? The nerf, of course. Lost_Cartographer
I have the feeling Grineer cities will be industrialish, but a fair bit cleaner than the galleons. I'm under the impression the Queens actually take care of their people, and the image would be in stark contrast to the cold machine-like military which just builds stuff that works, not to look nice. Corpus are all about profits though. While their cities would be pristine and clean, they'd feel far more artificial and materialistic, almost like looking at a cattle ranch full of content slaves. Pun intended. In both cases, I imagine tenno to be operating within the taller, military owned skyscrapers and bounding between rooftops, not on the streets full of pedestrians.
