Coren024
I had a mission where I ran around a corner and got hit by 2 lights at the same time. I know it was 2 because I saw 2 arcs hit me at once. the grineer must really suck at fixing their lights, I've seen 4 or more in a single tile. My record is 6, in that narrowish hallway tile with the control room looking sections off to the sides, pipes in the middle and a sloping section up near the opposite door. Got hit by one coming through the door, one going past an opening to the side section on the right, and four more behind pipes and other random rubbish in the corridor. How to make a Rhino squeal... Zkorp
... It's not because the game give to you the opportunity to not put on Shield/lifes mods that you have to think that it's a good idea to not have them (you are level 30 with 150 shield ? lol)... I always have mods for life and shields and I barely notice these traps, so it's your fault if you die and not the game's one...
Hyunsai
He technically got 300 shield (Ash's max) as there is Ice on the level. Plus, if the frame got no reactor on it, it's kinda hard to boost both life and shield. But, yeah, it's always the player fault. Sometimes people have to remember there are players not running levels on their Tri Forma potatoed corrupted frame of death. Zkorp
You solo play a frame with no reactor, hyunsai ? Even as a free to play player you got 50 plat, if you like a frame you have to potato it. In fact an unpotatoed frame is only for mastery rank, for myself I potato everything with the exception of crap melee. And Kunchoi : you take a risk without shield mods and then you pay for it. What happen's then is only normal and not a drama gameplay scandal. Don't you think so ?

I rarely see people taking vitality mods when doing hight level stuff. There are many far more useful mods that can take this two spots. You don't need more vitality once you learn how to avoid being shot. Except you can't avoid being shot by broken lights. You solo play a frame with no reactor, hyunsai ? Zkorp
I totally disagree with that assertion : vitality mods is for noobs... I think I win any game when I don't fall to the ground once. Lag, toxic ancients, slash procs and other threat bypass your shield. So it's like you consider that any non-rhino trinity frames are noobs frame ? Our group don't usually play with a trinity and we all run with life mods and strangely we don't go down often. But when we play publics games I always see the real non-noob (those without any life on them) always lying on the floor, wasting time and energy and make all the group take risks for them. we stay up, even our casters under bleed procs and we barely bother from light traps or various hazard from the game... Are we noobs because we are able to stay alive on our feet in this game ?

If you really just walk near toxic ancients and tank bleed-procing enemies then yes - you are noobs. And hey. When did I said that everyone who are not using vitality mods are non-noobs? You just aren't paying attention on people's max health/shields when they are not dying. Edited March 19, 2014 by Repligon
Zkorp
This game is about "higly occasional situations" : 40 min + in survival, don't tell me that you never get hit by anything ? (or maybe you play loki ?), 50 waves + in ODD and not closed at any moment by anything ? So yes we use life in order to counter some improbable hazard that happens a lot at some points. Revenant102
Lightning Rod is not a solution to the problem. It is a way to mitigate the damage, but not a way to circumvent it.

I'd just like to point out that his shield, halved though it may be, is fully charged whilst his HP is at zero. He's been killed whilst at full shield by an environmental hazard within the first room of the mission.
Humongous_Koi
To clarify, I have a reactor on all of my frames, and I use health mods on frames that are good with health mods (like Valkyr)

I have it maxed in my Volt and use it to rush on Sargas Ruk assassination mission.
Salenstormwing
The worst problem for me is that those lights will spawn INSIDE spawn rooms. I've been knocked down to a fraction of my health, just upon entering the game with a group of others. So yeah, broken lights are evil, but spawncamping broken lights are the WORST.
