Lets Talk About Rifle Aptitude

First, a few stats.

Malignant Force: +15% Poison Damage and Status Chance per rank (Max 4)

High Voltage: +15% Elec. Damage and Status Chance per rank (Max 4)

Rifle Aptitude: +2.5% Status Chance per rank (Max 6)

Hammer Shot: +15% Crit Dmg and +10% Status Chance per rank (Max 4)

Right off the bat, Rifle Aptitude is useless. Every mod can be better than it, so this mod has no right to even exist really. It should be brought up to a point where it can, if not compete with the other stat mods, be viable in a build. When status chance is already low, say, 20%, the 15% EXTRA to that 20 becomes 23%. Whereas with Malig or HighV, the 20 becomes 32%

So why should Rifle Aptitude be buffed? I think this is a problem happening with a lot of Mods in Warframe, that any mod that gives a single stat can be almost always (Read almost) be outclassed by something that gives two stats. Sure, a Rare Mod should be better than a Common, but that doesnt mean that Common Mods should only be used by beginners. I feel that single mods should be buffed to a point where any end game player may have a use for them

So even more easymode?

Procs don't actually do anything that you couldn't solve by just killing the enemy faster with more raw damage, so I wouldn't really say that fixing a useless mod that badly needs fixing would make anything easymode.

I beg to differ. Throw on Blast procs on a Grakata. Enemies cannot, and I mean CANNOT shoot you.

You are comparing a regular mod, to a nightmare mod and to event unique mods.

They should be very good, but I dont think that being 4 times better than Rifle Aptitude, plus offering an entire other stat is something that should happen

Well yeah, but once you've forgone damage/crit mods on the grakata for even more status chance... you've got a (crazy awesome CC'ing) ammo guzzling peashooter.

I agree completely, Rifle Aptitude, and all mods like it, are very useless compared to the nightmare and event-exclusive mods.

This is pretty much the reasoning that I agree with specifically. I very much agree that the rare and exclusive mods need to be better than the common mods, or should give things that common mods don't (giving a special stat or being a dual stat mod). But THAT much more powerful is just overkill. To add to all that, those rare mods have a cheaper mod slot cost as well!

Shocking touch, the electrical melee mod, is also something that's pretty weird. It has become next to useless, other than boosting the existing electrical damage. it gives 60% electrical damage, but the Voltaic Strike mod gived 60% electrical damage as well, in addition to the 60% status chance increase. It's the same with the Focus Energy mod, it too gives 60% electrical damage in addition to faster charge times! So why take it, other than to go full chair of death on the enemy and put Voltaic Strike, Focus Energy and Shocking touch on a melee weapon?
