Tenno Running From G3...

I've encountered the G3 five times. One of those times, I managed to win. The others? My team mates ran away. I've noticed this more and more - Tenno abandoning other Tenno, and not just against G3, but also when it comes to being downed. This doesn't feel like the same Warframe I used to play - where Tenno would help out other Tenno, instead of having AFKers leech and rushers just run by as their team mates were downed. No one I played with would run from the stalker. So why run from G3? Why abandon your team mates?

I don't get it.

We don't run away, we merely dictate range, so as to combat the G3 more effectively, who are dangerous up close.

It's called tactics. I've encountered them three or four times and they haven't yet managed to break my shields.

As to not reviving other players: trying to revive them while the G3 is chasing us would result in failure 100% of the time, as the G3 would have to be close to have downed the player in the first place. That is detrimental to success.

I never run from rare mobs. They need to be put down and i kinda can see how good is my frame and weapon setup when i am fighting them.

They are a challenge, and that might be the reason why people are running from them. We all know that most of the players are running with Rhino+Soma+Galatine, and they get scared of anything that can damage them. Everything over level 50.

I don't get it either. I have no problem beating them solo (but i was pretty terrified when they first showed up, because i did not now, what to expect), so i thought a lot of players (aka. 4) can beat them to a pulp. All you have to do, is avoiding the shieldbash of doom. Keeps you down while they just hurl all they got at you.

So far, the only 'running away' I've done was putting enough distance between myself and the shield Grustrag or taking out the others out of their melee range.

Two reasons for that :

1) To avoid their deadly melee attacks and shield knockdowns;

2) If I were to fall, it would give time to an ally to come over and raise.

I've yet to be captured; I guess they're not trying hard enough. Kind of sad that some would run away though... a full squad, if they fight smart, can take them down easy... sadly, PuGs are lacking in that department.

DC'ing is not 'tactics'. Running away and leaving your team mates alone is not 'tactics'. Team work is tactics. Luring G3 out into open ground is tactics. This? This is not tactics.

I begin to think the Grineer are right and Tenno have no 'honour'.

What does DC'ing have to do with my post?

Running away and leaving my teammates alone is, to the contrary, a very effective tactic when fighting the G3. Spreading out to isolate the G3, who are outnumbered to begin with, is a very effective tactic. I have not succumbed once to the G3.

Honor is subjective.

Adapt or die.

not only that, OP, but because i ran away, I ended up killing the G3 for my team and allowing them access to the rare drops exclusive to the G3. In the end my way works, regardless of what your idea of tactics is. Let results speak for themselves.

When there is a downed player while the G3 is spawned, I usually lure them away. That being said, I have to give myself enough space and time to Rhino Charge back to the downed player and revive them before the G3 comes back and starts attacking. This is called tactics. If this isn't tactics to you, I don't know what is.

If the downed player allows me to kill the G3, I'll kill them in front of the downed player and then revive them after making sure I'm safe.

There is a difference between a strategic retreat leading into a counterattack and just plain running away and leaving your teammates to do all the work. I have seen very little of the former, yet very much of the latter.

Thank you. This is what I'm getting at. You put it more eloquently than I did.

However, I've been seeing players DC rather than face G3. G3 appears - players run away, then they DC. There is no 'strategic withdrawal', no 'luring'.

RNG. if you can't take the G3 by yourself and you get bad PUGs, ask some people in recruiting to join. I'd be more than happy to help you. Just don't criticize me while i'm fighting them.

If you're not the one who runs away and completely forgets the G3, or the one who runs away and disconnects without fighting them, then you're not the one being criticized here. Nobody is criticizing strategic retreats leading into counterattacks here.

The ones being criticized are the ones who do not help to fight the G3 at all.

Allow me to post the obligatory "play with clan mates/friends".

Behavior like that is to be expected in a public game.

people think that picking up the loot orbs is helping. Never mind about the helping create them part. Seen this behavior with Stalker also, not so much with Harvester

creating space, kiting, and other such tactics work. But lets be honest, MANY players run away at the first sign of something being able to kill them and let others "handle" it. Be honest, come out and admit it. Its not like we dont know

Yea, you got the point perfectly.

Imo, people tend to run at the first sign of trouble and expect others to deal with it. Me on the other hand, i always try to wait for Stalker/Harvey/G3 to spawn and then kill them with team. Game is team based anyway.

Allow me to post the obligatory "it is a coop game and should be played cooperatively, regardless of who is being played with".

Behavior like that is selfish and should not be condoned or dismissed in a cooperative team-based game.

unfortunately, "should" has very little impact on "reality".

Don't shoot the messenger.
