Armored Vehicles

I think it would be an absolutely great idea if on earth's surface and other land maps had enemy ground armor such as tanks or other armored vehicles, instead of just having ground troops. How should those ground troops travel far distances without air travel? VEHICLE TRAVEL!

Absolutely not. You want tanks? Go play Battlefield. Warframe is a different type of game.

 

Besides, good luck riding a tank through vents and narrow passages.

Good idea. But for this we need bigger maps, with more open spaces, where the vehicles can maneuver.

I just realized something... 90% of posts like "Give us TANKS and SPACESHIPS and AIRCRAFT and I don't have Battlefield, I play only Warframe because it's free, so I want you to make Battlefield in future from your game!" or like "We totally need tophats and monocles!" or "I want a two-handed 3-meter long broadsword, like in this anime http://someimagehosting/76577890/coolanime.jpg and give us Rasengans! And Death Note as secondary!" are created by people with low amount of posts...

 

I understand the initial hype, and all that "Oooh! I have an idea! I saw XXX in game YYY you can totally rip it off!", but it won't work. It doesn't work that way.

We have the world already created, whole universe origins in Dark Sector and is not a subject to change. Polish - yes, but not overhaul. Warframe is aiming for these tiniest bits of realism - jet-propelled warhammer is ok untill it is resonably big. hence no dual-wielded four-bladed 5-meter wide battleaxes will make it to the game.

Same goes for vehicles. It just doesn't match the universe.

We are completely depending on our guns, blades and frames. And that's cool, that's the very essence of Warframe.

No need to change that.

In fairness, while I understand and completely agree with the fact that us using vehicles is a no-no, there is no real reason we can't see enemies using vehicles. Imagine seeing a Grineer APC moving through the Phobos desert, jump on top of it and hide to get access into a base, all the while lacing it with tenno explosives. Sure makes an entertaining alternative to vent diving.

 

 

Edit: On a side note - preparation is key, plant explosives on that alarm panel and watch a panicky Grineer blow himself up.

I recall a mission in Lost Planet 2 with a train in high speed in a sand desert... would love to see that in Warframe. Imagine a train full of grineer in Phobos, at high speed, and with grineers jumping from other trains. They could also use flying motorcycles with two grineers at each, one male driving it and the other a female similar to the Scorpion but shooting with a secondary.

i want a canibal warframe that runs around chasing and eating corpus, grineer, and infested alike...while the bosses chase you around trying to kill you...until you hack a console, then for a short time they turn blue and you're able to chase them and kill them sending them back to the start where they begin chasing you again

Well I don't mean tanks like what we think of tanks like modern ones, like a vehicle that would be tanky and would be equivalent to one. But in the really big open maps that grineer might drive and you have to destroy

The corpus already have the Jackal as ground based armor and the raptor as close air support. Granted they are only boss fights, but they are still there in a sense. It would be cool if they were featured more prominently during invasion missions (where they would most likely be used). It'd certainly spice up their monotonous routine of battle pay.
