Strudul
Hey I took a break from Warframe just before update 9, but now I'm wanting to get back into it, There seems to be a lot of new stuff, which leaves me wondering whether my current arsenal is outdated or still completely viable. Frames: -Excalibur, Frost Prime Primary: -Boltor, Braton, Dread, Hek, Latron Prime, Snipetron Vandal, Strun -Generally use mods for dmg, multishot, and puncture, with an elemental mod that I switch out based on the faction Secondary: -Akbolto, Lex -Same mods as primary Melee:-Gram, Dual Ether -Mods focused on charge attacks (charge dmg, charge speed, puncture dmg, attack speed) Sentinel:-Dethcube I also have: - 5,000,000 credits - 568 platinum - 1357 mods (225 cores) Any advice or a nudge in the right direction would be appreciated. Cheers Edited March 18, 2014 by Strudul

RoboDoge
Sell everything except Latron Prime, Snipetron Vandal and Dread. Get Carrier sentinel for Sweeper weapon and use it on every other sentinel. And new stuff is hard to explain. Try wikia, you will get some starting info there. Play the game and you will get a grip in a week. EDIT: Get Rhino for easy mode, you wont need skill for him. Angius
Sell everything except Latron Prime, Snipetron Vandal and Dread. Get Carrier sentinel for Sweeper weapon and use it on every other sentinel. Don't listen to him. Akbolto is still a great sidearm, Hek is still viable. But I must agree - get Carrier and read Wiki. LegendOfAB
Some users should be here to help you soon, so i'll just say this: Pretty much every Frame and weapon can hold its own with the right mods despite what some people might say(though some Frames seems to have it easier than others). So you honestly should just pick what looks cool to you.
Temfist
Latron Prime and Dread are wonderful now, and Ak Bolto's are still one of the best secondaries in the game. As for melee, I'd invest in Galatine, and a quick hit melee you can Copter with like Dual Zorens. I'd also try to get the warframes Nova, Trinity, and Nyx (you can do anything with those three) but I wouldn't sell your Frost Prime, if you can manage to get some platinum. With the new trading system, you can sell some of your valuable duplicate mods for platinum to buy more slots, so I'd invest in getting more slots if thats an issue. Are you part of a Clan? a lot of the new clan tech is really awesome, I particularly love the Phage (infested shotgun, really fun weapon) and the Castanas (remote detonation kunais that stick to any surface), but there are lots of new goodies. Jat Kittag is an awesome melee weapon too (a heavy melee with the animations of fragor, but the range of Orthos, plus it has a unique 360 swing charge hit and auto rag dolls!) anyway, Carrier is your best bet for Sentinels. I like all the sentinels, but Djinn (Infested clan research) is only good with certain warframes and mods, and is fairly non versatile when not used with those specifics (Zephyr with Turbulance, Frost with Snow Globe, or Nyx with Absorb, there are not really any other frames that excel with the Djinn Sentinel, unless your fighting infested, then everyone is pretty good with it, since Djinn's sole ability is to pull aggro on itself.) KingTaro
I see you've missed the whole Damage 2.0. Before damage 2.0, only weapons with puncture were viable, but nowadays, you can take any weapon you like. Some will require more forma's than the others if you're willing to do endless missions with them. Anyway, looking at your "puncture" setup, I have to tell you that it no longer works the way it used to. Puncture attribute means something else now. Basically, the physical damage can be split up into Slash, Puncture and Impact. But you'll be better off using elemental mods and faction mods (mods that deal damage only to certain factions). The weapons are split up into 2 main categories. Weapons with high crit chance and low crit chance. If the weapon has a high crit chance, go for raw damage mods (serration, heavy calibur, multishot mods,...) then for crit mods and then for elemental damage for the remaining slots. If the crit chance of the weapon is low, go for raw damage mods and elemental mods. The main difference between Damage 1.0 and 2.0 is how the elemental mods work. To know which elementals to use, I'd suggest checking the wiki: http://warframe.wikia.com/wiki/Damage_2.0 Edited March 18, 2014 by KingTaro
Arlayn
the fact you only have Excalibur, and frost prime says your missing out. lol... Also if you have no clan, and looking to try out Zephy I suggest collecting ALOT OF OXIUM, or joining a clan with a lot of credits, and buying the zephyr BP. Because I am telling you now... your not making her for a long time.
Strudul
- Are charge attacks still the best way to attack? Normal attacks used to be completely useless, - Are the strategies for wave defence the same with Nyx etc? Though personally I liked Frost Prime for my defence missions. - Excalibur was my favourite frame for everything and made the game super easy mode. The hardest thing at the time (except the very high lvl defence missions) was T3 void, and I had no problems soloing it with Excalibur. - What can you trade with the new 'trading system'? I don't know the values of anything, but I'm sure I must had some decent stuff that people would want. - I am part of a clan, but they all seem to have stopped playing. - Is sliding still a thing? (Using crouches and jumps to slide and flip to move faster)

(Using crouches and jumps to slide and flip to move faster) -Depends on melee weapon. -Defences dont require specific frames, but some are better than others at it -Excal is modded for Radial Blind now, damage is meh -You can trade mods, platinum, void keys and prime BPs/parts -Sliding isnt moving option now, as we all use coptering. Get yourself fast melee weapon ( zorens or scoliac ) and add maxed Fury mod. Just use jump slide attack to propel yourself.
Strudul
-Defence only required specific frames if you wanted to go to rly rly high waves. -Excalibur always had sucky dmg and was modded for Radial Blind. Run in -> Blind -> Spam charge attacks -I've got loads of spare prime BPs for Frost / Latron / Reaper
