BrotherIcarus
Why does warframe incorporate these Facebook mechanics, they serve no purpose to a hardcore gamer and overall just lessen the game experience. It lessens the urge to "Grind" a new prime weapon or something similar, why should I do some intensive farming for the resources to build this new gun when I do not even have access to it. It is a mechanic that is used in games that are designed to leech out as much money from the player as possible by locking content behind time walls to "Entice" you to just spend a bit of money to speed up the timer so you do not have to wait. It caters to the casual gamer and completely desensitizes hardcore gaming by forcing you to wait. Imagine if in Mass effect 3 after buying a new character you had to wait fro 3 days before you could use it, or battlefield after unlocking a new rifle you had to wait more time to use it. By this I mean the wait time for building stuff in the foundry. Edited March 19, 2014 by BrotherIcarus

shut
I've never been bothered by it, honestly. It's not like I'm being forced to sit and watch it cook or something; I'm free to play the game using the items that I currently have or do something productive, like sleeping. The only thing that really bugs me about our "wait time" system is that you can't craft more than one of the same item at once, which makes it so that tons of clantech items have longer total cooking times than even Warframes. That needs some changing.

Orbister
I like the time, it gives the game some "realism" i doubt that is the correct term though, but i like it anyway, and off course it "invites" you to buy plat and rush it, which is logical and normal because DE needs money to keep working you know?... last time i checked games did not grow on trees and neither did manpower... Eve online has this mechanic too. And your comparisson with Mass Effect 3 is invalid, Warframe is a completely different game and project to Mass Effect 3 or any EA game actually... EA milks you before you even start the game... Edited March 19, 2014 by Orbister
Warriorrogue
The two games you listed are not F2P games, and have a quite large company behind it. Warframe is neither of those. But don't give EA ideas. Edited March 19, 2014 by Warriorrogue
BrotherIcarus
I listed the examples because they use similar game play mechanics. Also funny you should mention EA you should go check out the newest dungeon keeper published by EA.

But you are critizicing the business model no the game play mechanics, it's like comparing Mc Donalds with a Food street vendor because both of them sell fast food... Bigbangs
I think DE is really fair to their users, paying or non-paying. Don't forget that a F2P game needs to make money as well. In warframe you can get almost all items in-game for free, if you invest the time into the game. It's not like other F2P games where you can only rent your weapons for a fixed amount of time or that they damaged over time, forcing you to buy a new one. Everthing you find, buy or craft in warframe is yours indefinitely. I have more then enough weapons lying around to play with while some items are being crafted. Just plan ahead and start building some items while you are leveling up some others, so you can switch to your new ones once their done.

Well, you answered it yourself... If you are too hardcore for that you can farm some mods and primes and trade them for plat to rush the building process. I enjoy not being forced into spending too much for a worse copy of a game I already have. Whereas while this one is similar to the other ones, there are differences. And the build time is not bad, as you can set most weapons to build overnight, and unless you're really new, you have weapons you enjoy already. If this was facebook mechanics, you would only be able to do 10 missions per day without paying extra plat.
