Dark5eiD
soma is better in a lot of ways....split chamber, serration, heavy calibur, vital sense, point strike, and then elemental combo of your choice. off hand i cant remeber how many bars are need in point strike but as soon as your crit chance is %100 you dont need anymore. serration full and heavy calibur full would be the target for me. this gun for me is used mostly for close range mob control. so accuracy loss doesnt bother me that much. but you could just put a few bars in heavy calibur and call it a day. ZaraaK
Keep in mind that the Point Strike mod crit percentage, is not the weapon's end crit. It depends on the weapon but even with a 150% Point Strike most weapons will not get to 100% crit. A few like Dread can. In any case, the weapon's end crit chance is listed on the arsenal screen. Put the highest Point Strike mod you can without going over 100%. You also want the highest Serration mod you can get. The Gorgon Wraith isn't bad but it isn't the most highly accurate one at range. Probably your best bet is to judge it on that criteria. If you engage predominantly in close quarter fire fights the Gorgon Wraith should serve you well. Generally though I would agree with the previous posters that the Soma is better. Edited March 19, 2014 by ZaraaK

Athros
Let's keep it short; Soma for accurate and hard hitting from any range, and Gorgon Wraith for more chance of status proc up to mid-range. For modding, with current mod system there are a few mods that are, so to say, 'must-have' to be plugged for Rifles; Serration (+Base Damage) & Split Chamber (+Multishot). From there you could mod them following each of their own characteristic. Soma relies on huge crit status, and you should also mod it along that way. Plug all basic crit mods; Point Strike (+Crit Chance) & Vital Sense (+Crit Damage), after that you can plug some elemental mods (preferably the new dual stat event mods, since they're cheaper on the drain and gives you +Status Chance) while giving quite a damage. And last, you can plug few mods that could further enhance its crits, like Hammer Shot (+Crit Damage & +Status Chance) or Critical Delay (+Crit Chance & -Fire Rate), which unfortunately is rarer because the former is a Nightmare mod (only obtainable from Nightmare missions) and the latter is a Corrupted mod (only obtainable from Orokin Derelict vault). Gorgon Wraith is not easier to mod like Soma, since it has less specific characteristic, but it's not really that hard. Since Gorgon Wraith excels on sustained fire with a lot of Impact damage, it was suitable to decimate mobs with a lot of shields. Focus on maximizing its damage first through elemental mods, preferably a combo which counterbalance its shield damaging stat, or you could also make use its quite high Status chance as utility by plugging the new dual stat event mods, since they're cheaper on the drain and gives you +Status Chance. You could also plug Speed Trigger (+Fire Rate) or better, Shred (+Fire Rate & +Punch Through) which is a Nightmare mod, to lessen its spooling time, and for Shred's case, gives you more ammo efficiency against clumped mobs. And yeah, ammo effieciency... Since Gorgon does munch through your ammo cache, if you felt that it gulps your ammo to fast, try to plug Rifle Ammo Mutation (+Convert to Rifle Ammo) to get more ammo quicker. But then again, it comes down to your own preferences...
