HellEnforcer
Since I made one for bugs, I as well make one quickly for the things that drive me crazy for no reason. Here I go. 1.- Alarm Markers The marker to turn off the alarm is always there visible and present on both the game and the minimap. Even if the player has no intention of turning it off. I suggest a couple of things. - Since turning off the alarms is done by hacking one of the consoles every player already knows the location of (except new players or new tileset), taking the marker away would be good. - Make the marker disappear after a minute or so. 2.- Waypoints I can see my own waypoint. Moreover, every player has the exact same waypoint look. Make the waypoints to have three different colors, one for each player and make yours invisible to yourself after 5 seconds that you could use to verify you put it where you wanted (I do not see other reason to see your own waypoint). Also, waypoints on mods go away once the mod has been taken by all players, which is excellent (it would be nice to make it disappear for you if you took it). However, waypoints on the floor quite often last wayyyyyy too long and shortening the duration does not seem very viable since from time to time it is actually not long enough. Perhaps adding a certain radious and if a player gets near it, make it go away for that player. Even better if the player can modify this radious on the options. 3.- Minimalistic / Complete HUD In the middle of a game there is no way to know what WarFrame has certain player unless you are seeing it. Putting that information on the squad status would result on a cramp of information, which can be distracting among other things. Perhaps changing the status bar to reflect more info without looking cramped... or at least to give basic info that can be easily and quickly seen on the heat of combat while giving enough and detailed info in case you have spare time. That is just a drawing done in about 5 minutes, but the idea is there. My suggestion is to keep the current status as they are, but add a new option to the toggle, so it goes through at least 3 of them: the nothingness, the current one, and a more detailed one. The one I put here is the following. - Over all the player's name. - The circle could be used during combat, the brighter the blue, the more shield percentage the player has, the orange is to illustrate a damaged WarFrame. - The color are to be used depending on the percentage of the health, like green 100%, light yellow over 75%, orange over 50%, redish over 25% and red barely alive just to say something. - Below are 4 numbers, the upper numbers are the current, while the lower is the maximum. The line between is the same it is currently, just a visual representation of the percentage - At the left the WarFrame used and its level - Below is the energy version of the health stat. Shows the player's current and maximum energy. - Weapon in hand and ammo count 4.- Alerted Enemies Include a small text under the minimap to tell the player whether the enemies are alerted or not. Maybe even just change the color of a border around the map. 5.- Death Sentence's Notification A way to tell the player if the player has a death mark of the stalker, harvester, G3 or Derf Anyo. Currently the only way to know is by having their email, but the player does not know if it still active or it has been used at some point. Perhaps show it on the armory somewhere? A skull for the stalker, a knife for the harvester, a gun for the G3? 6.- I just want an answer (the reason) A reason for the mod to all have odd maximum drain. I completely like that since if you put it on a polarized slot, you have the option of having it maxed and 'waste' that extra inexistent point or not max the mod and use the extra point on something else. I like it since it gives that tradeoff of sorts. But it bugs me completely not knowing the real reason. I assume that my guess is not too far of it, but I have not found confirmation of it. 7.- Low Shield Sentinels Extremely low sentinel shields. That's it, even the sentinels that are combat driven, I would assume they would have more shield, since they recharge while the health is only by health orbs which are not very frequent on occasions. If they are going to get hit constantly, they should get more shields. I won't press much on this, since they seem to survive just fine most of the time just as they are. 8.- Realoading Currently if the player is reload, it can be interrupted by almost anything. Opening a locker, searching a dead body, falling 10 cm, pressing a button, rolling, just to mention those that pop to my head just now. While I understand some of them to make sense from a realistic point of view (like searching the body), resetting the reload does not. But my main nuisance here is the rolling, falling, and opening lockers. I mean, we are space ninjas with super suits that can fall from immense heights, shoot in ziplines, take missiles on the face, run on walls and even reload while doing all of them, but they can't while skipping 2 steps of a stair. 9.- Rolling This one. I can't believe I forgot this one to start with. This has been my nightmare and reason of fury, rage, sleepless nights, violence against the keyboard, drowning kittens and blinding puppies. Well, that's an exaggeration. Hand waving and swearing is there though. Seriously, you roll so darn often and most of the time for almost no reason. You are running, drop from the stair's handrail and you roll. A rock is in your path and you step on it, go down and you roll. Making a precision jump on an obstacle course and you roll. Jump to a higher platform and you roll. I am not exaggerating on those, they all happened and most of them do way too often.I have been said "then stop sprinting". However, I see no reason to roll for any minuscule change of height even if you are running. 10.- Sliding and air kicking There was a time when it was possible to run, slide, jump, air kick, keep sliding and repeat. However, this was eliminated long ago alongside when they did the change for zorencoptering. While they changed back to be able to fly through the map with a couple of axes, the above move was changed to be possible only if you used sprint toggle. You can't do it while sprinting normally. I would not care much if the sprint toggle was more reliable, but currently you stop running by various reasons, some of them can happen without you noticing. Sprint with toggle is not really an option for me and at least a few others I have talked with. I would like that capability back with the regular spring button 11.- Day Cycle Thanks to Polymelodic for this one. It never crossed my mind this, but sounds incredibly helpful. It would be nice to have some way to determine if earth is either at night or day without having to enter the actual map or ask around. It could be a small symbol of a sun or a moon under your profile button. If this day/night cycle is planned to be either just particular to earth or if other maps will have their own cycle, then this symbol could be made so it only appears if you are currently selecting a map on Earth. //========== Edit 1(3/26/2014) - Added titles for better readability - Added points 8, 9, 10, 11 - Thanks Polymelodic for 11 Edited March 26, 2014 by HellEnforcer
RadiantProxy
I liked the idea about little icons that tell us what death marks we currently have. Saves a lot of guessing. It would also be nice to have an icon somewhere on a solar map, that shows us what time (day/night)it is currently on Earth. For the ones who like to make photos of plants (for the health restores). Thanks for the day / night cycle idea. I didn't think of it. Added it to the post.
