Fortune Hunter's Black Market (Open Rp)

"Fortune Hunter Perxy here. You don't sound like the client from earlier nor look like him. It seems he used your comm signal since I was attempting to return the client's call and reached you instead of the client himself."

Perxy placed the Fang Prime daggers in a small containment unit the client came by to pick it up but remained a bit baffled that the origin of the video message was from the comm signal of a red Rhino when the client was somewhat clearly a purple Loki.

"It's one thing for an client to order something, but how exactly am I going to get his package to him if I have little clue as to where he is and am unable to contact him?"

Even worse is that if he did manage to make contact with the Loki, Perxy was unable to leave the dojo as his fighter is still undergoing repairs.

Already this situation did not sit well with the fortune hunter. If only he could get someone with an excellent set of engineering skills and knowledge on ship-building to come and speed up the repairs; several of Corpus techs who built his fighter from before had been killed in engagements around the system and the others were likely unable to leave their positions.

"If only I had been more careful on that last mission..."

Perxy let out a sigh and continued to oversee the repairs on the fighter, leaving his sentinel the job of figuring out how to contact the client.

The Rhino blinks and growls "You talking about Joker?!" and the Loki popped up "You called? Oh hello! are my daggers read," Joker! I'm gonna!" and The Rhino wraps his hands around Joker's neck and starts to strangle him

-< Your daggers are indeed ready, sir. However, it seems as though you may have to have someone fetch the daggers for you as our method of transportation has been shot to hell a week ago. Sincerest apologies for any inconveniences this may cause. >-

Eclipse readies the containment unit and kept a hold of it until further notice.

-< Should we set a price equal to the cost of the mission request? >-

"Hmm... What do the three of you think?"

// Our arses were a hair's width away from getting capped just getting to the nest and getting out. //

-< Your fighter was ambushed by a large contingent of other hunters along with a mix of bandits and returned heavily damaged. >-

\\ The four of us are going to be stuck here unable to go out on more missions and explorations unless our preferred method of transportation is repaired meaning that we'd be losing quite a bit of potential profit. \\

"Right then. Price decided."

Considering that the client seemed to be willing to foot whatever bill the Fortune Hunters gave him, Perxy decided to charge the price of the mission which was based on the difficulty and the value of the eggs along with the cost of repairing and refitting his fighter; all of which amounted to 148,616 Platinum bits, most of which is for the repairs alone as the fighter was a personally designed, one-of-a-kind ship whose design was based on a powerful space fighter developed long ago; it would not be easy task to repair such a vessel as extensive knowledge regarding both the original base and the current build was necessary along with the proper tools.

"I normally would not like to charge a client for more than simply the mission request and the item ordered even if they were willing to pay just about whatever price I could want, but my fighter, one of this black market's main sources of income as a multipurpose method of transportation, has been crippled which leaves me and my crew in a bit of a pickle, especially when we get more requests from other clients that would require travelling throughout the system. I'd like to fix that problem as quickly as possible and therefore hope you understand the rather hefty price. Of course, I would not expect you to pay it all off at once unless you wished to."

// I would've charged fifty thousand more.//

"Pay no mind to him. He's just venting since the first mission I brought him on after while nearly resulted in the loss of his precious facial features."

"Hmm...a bit steep, but it IS to save my race...Platinum being sent now. Tell me Perxy, do you know what it's like to wake up from Cryosleep and learn the young of your race have become a delicacy to half of the galaxy? Thank you for doing this. I am on my way. Do not panic when you see the massive Grineer Galleon. Comes with the job."

"I can't say. Cannibalism of humans exist, but I've yet to see anything like it on such a large scale.

As for the Grineer Galleon, I doubt anything could make me panic as much as the infested Derelict that came pretty close to colliding with this dojo last month. The eggs will be stored in probably the best stasis gel unit we currently have, courtesy of Corpus manufacturing. It will be kept safe in there until you arrive to pick up the eggs."

Perxy turned to the Leaper who went to retrieve the stasis unit while Eclipse carefully handled the eggs. When the Leaper returned, the Gyroog eggs were placed in the unit and stored in the shock absorbent gel as Perxy said they would be. The fortune hunter went back to start repairing the ship with materials and personally designed weapons shipped in from a Corpus refinery and armament plant, the two Infested went about cleaning up the dojo, and Eclipse took note of the incoming Platinum, transferring some of the Orokin currency over to the Corpus as payment for the materials Perxy purchased.

A message came in for Perxy, this one seeming to made by a MOA judging by the face on the screen. "Out of the way, you!" Someone pulled the MOA out of the way, revealing a Corpus Crewman. "Sorry about that. A defective MOA got curious and decided to run in front of the camera and stare into it. Would you happen to have say...two gallons of rapidly-cooling, high voltage insulation gel, a live Electric Crawler, sixteen cubic feet of alloy plates, four Neural Sensors, four units of Morphics and a pound of Circuits in stock?"

"Eclipse?"

-< We have everything but the Electric Crawler. >-

"... How far away from the dojo do you think last month's near-collision Derelict is?"

Already making an assumption as to what Perxy is planning, Eclipse responds:

-< Your fighter is not ready to fly yet. It needs more time to have just the basic necessities fixed. Certainly you're not planning to drift all the way there from here? >-

"I don't have much of a choice here. The client here wants a live Electric Crawler and I plan on getting him what he wants."

Of course, even if Perxy does intend to capture the specified crawler, he needs a way of reaching the nearest infested area and also a way to get back as simply drifting through space would take too long and likely result in his death from lack of oxygen. He travelled to the lower sections of the dojo in search of something he could use and stored away in the lower levels were a few Grineer boarding torpedoes. The scarlet Frost decided that was how he'll reach the ship.

"Course, getting back would be the next biggest problem, but I'm sure. I can improvise something."

The torpedo was brought out to the hangar and outfitted with guided rockets to get its occupant to the chosen destination.

Only after final check ups by Eclipse and the Leaper did Perxy get in the torpedo and launched off towards the nearest Derelict.

The capture went on from from there with Perxy eliminating most of the unwanted Infested on board and keeping an Electric Crawler under containment by completely freezing into a state of cryo-stasis. Now he just had to figure out how to get off the derelict.

Perxy made his way towards the bridge of the decaying Orokin ship and checked to see if the ship could still be used somehow to get to somewhere he can call for a pick up. Through a series of misfortunate events and system failures across the ship, the Frost crash-landed the Orokin Derelict into Eris. From there Perxy made a call to his Corpus client:

"Fortune Hunter here. I have your live Electric Crawler ready for transport and the rest of the order is at the dojo, but I am stuck on Eris with no way off this frozen rock. If you don't mind sending someone to extract me along with the infested specimen, that would be great because this Derelict seems to be running out of breathable air and there also Corpus and Grineer shuttles on their way here."

The client responded, "It was hard to miss a derelict ship crashing into Eris. Someone has already been sent to collect you and the specimen. You will be brought to the hangar at the installation I am currently on. From there, I will have a ship transport you to your destination and collect the other items on my list. Your payment will be wired to your account piece by piece as I get each item."

Just as the transmission said, it was not long before a Corpus cargo ship came by to pick up Perxy. It was one of the smaller ones that that could fit inside the larger ships and installations and was fully capable of carrying large cargo containers underneath. When they arrived, they sent off a ping that he should pick up as a waypoint on his radar so he would know where to go. Of course, he should hurry as the Crewmen and MOA aboard the ship would have to hold off any Infested that get near until he arrives.

In an instant Perxy grabbed a hold of the frozen specimen and bolted from the bridge of the Derelict and double-timed his way towards the exfiltration point. During his sprint the Grineer shuttles intent on claiming the Derelict docked into various locations on the ship with Lancers and Troopers pouring out while more Corpus ships stationed around Eris at the time also docking under orders to investigate and salvage the crash.

It will take Perxy a few minutes to bypass the clusters of Grineer, Corpus, and remaining Infested as the three factions try to kill each other.

He sends a message to the Corpus exfiltration team:

"It's going to take me some time to get to the extraction point from the bridge since I need to make sure the infested specimen makes it there alive in one piece. How long can your crew hold out?"

The Derelict was running out of air and the longer it takes Perxy to get to the designated Corpus transport, the harder it is going to get.

The response came, "We can hold out for a maximum of two minutes. The Infested are swarming and the Grineer are also descending on the ship. It will turn into a battleground soon enough. Right now, it's just our Shockwave MOAs keeping them back."

"I'll be there in one and a half."

Taking a few looks to plot a course to run through, Perxy finalized his options and bolted with the specimen in hand. To further increase his speed he iced the floor as he went along into a slide. Perxy weaved past the Grineer and the Infested and made way towards the transport, reaching it within the two minutes the crew gave him,

"I got the package! Let's go!"

He slid right into the transport and tossed the specimen towards a corner before laying down suppressive fire with his Latron Prime and Castanas onto oncoming enemies in order to provide cover for the transport's crew to get back in and get the lot of them out of Derelict.

The crew rushed aboard and brought up the boarding ramp behind themselves. A Charger had tried to get inside but one of the Crewmen kicked it off before it could get its hind legs onto the ramp. The Crewman looked to PErxy and commented, "You got here with seconds to spare. Good thing too."

As expected, the ship flew straight to a nearby installation where Perxy's client awaited them. As the boarding ramp lowered and the crew led Perxy out into the hangar, he would see the client waiting for him. He was an Elite Crewman now that the colour of his suit could actually be seen. "Thank you for obtaining the specimen I requested. How much is owed to you for it? Of course, I will add on hazard pay for what you had to go through to capture it."
