TheStag
The community has given a very large, negative amount of feedback in response to broken lights. DE has acknowledged this, and most likely the broken lights will be removed from the game. I have seen many topics about broken lights, and people hate them. They are incredibly unrealistic with the arc length and damage, and just plain annoying, but we can still keep them in the game. How? I saw a comment on one thread about broken lights, and someone mentioned that they should be like explosive barrels. They can be shot to deliver an electric charge in a small radius around them, so we can use them as traps against Grineer, but they can use them against us too. It would be a minor, yet usable hazard on the map. I take no credit for this, but I think this is a great idea. DE wouldn't have to remove something entirely from the game, and we would have something else that could be used for or against us.
Revenant102
DERebecca has said they're getting an extensive rework rather than being totally removed.
Guest
Just an update, Dev's next iteration of this mechanic will include: 1) Only placing the 'traps' at eye or floor level. 2) FX that indicate they are clearly active. 3) Will do DOT vs (instead of) big pulse/surge of damage. 4) Can be exploded from a distance to damage nearby enemies (like Explosive Barrels). 5) Will have a chance to drop a resource. We can definitely see the hate still for these by some, so more attempts to tweak are being made.
xlraistlx
The problem I have with them is that i cannot solo high level missions with low-level frames as two consecutive lights can kill me and some of them can't be spotted. I had made a suggestion of making them do damage as a percentage and no raw damage.
(PSN)Darkseider
The solution to the problem is simple, remove them, yet DE is forcing the issue by trying to polish a turd and we all know no matter how shiny it's still a turd. There is nothing redeemable about these "Bullshi... Broken Lights". Remove them and go back to the drawing board and come up with something Grineer-ish that acts similar to Corpus cameras and turrets. Then you will have a winner. yarash2110
seems kind of weird how it will only trigger when tenno are nearby, and the amount of damage and range it got are just ridiculous, it should be nerfed, and not activate immidietly, maybe have 1 sec delay, and then a chance to activate and a chance to juust turn off, like a 50% chance

Veteran players have been complaining as to how easy everything is now once you level up your frames. so, let them add new stuff (they will definitely tweak and fix stuff as time goes) rather than asking them to remove stuff completely just because you can feel like badass completing missions in 2-3 mins. Remember this game is still in beta.. Edited March 20, 2014 by (PS4)jenax002
