just has the name implies, its scanner ability doesnt work properly, it will consume the charge of your scanner even if the target failed to be scanned...

helios will use up the charges right away when starting the scan, but if the target is killed before he finishes the job, the charge is gone and no codex entry!

A solution to this would be for him to instantly scan the target and give him a cd on the ability...

Chances are it's something else killing the target, not the sentinel. There's no reason not to let him just insta-scan things, considering you have no way of controlling which enemies he'll scan, or whether or not he'll scan enemies that you've already finished.

there is a way but its so extreme you shouldn't bother, but what you would do is try to approach the enemy you desire to scan first, or get as close as possible why trying to get away from anyone else you notice its trying to scan at the time. it will always indicate who its scanning with a orange flash first.

Let me get this straight. Not only is the scanner unreliable, but it takes actual scanners to use? Thats the equivalent of having a friend follow you around and then giving him your camera to take a picture you could just take yourself.

No way in heck could I ever take those pics.

He's managed to catch them in the middle of being launched in the air, in the split second before I cut their throats, as I blow them to shrapnel... he's quite determined to scan things no matter how incredibly hard it would be to do so.

Well if thats true, then I can see the use of it. I still don't understand why you have to give it your own codex scanners. It seems silly to me.
