To Be Frank, I Don't Need All These Orokon Reactor Blueprints.

It's struck me as quite odd that I keep getting Orokin reactor blueprints from login rewards and they appear a lot in alerts. I don't deny they're useful, but in a game where there are obviously more weapons than Warframes, shouldn't Orokin catalysts be the more common item? Both because a reactor's usefulness should be rarer than a catalyst's difficult job of being used on many weapons. And even more so, weapons are more likely to get tossed out than Warframes by players.

I know catalysts are cheap, but there are many players that avoid the temptation of spending money no matter what. I don't know the exact numbers but I estimate getting a catalyst compared to a reactor as a ratio of 1:2. I feel it should just be switched. Just because a catalyst is more useful shouldn't mean it be harder to get. Now maybe my RNG has been awful and in login rewards I just don't get them. But it really does feel like reactors are the only thing I get. Maybe there's someone out there who only gets catalysts and is dying to get some reactors for his/her crafted Warframes, I would never know. Maybe this is a non issue. I guess I'm just hoping to find out if reactors are statistically more common than catalysts.

I haven't gotten anything useful from login in a while. well, a pre-made forma last week, but it's all random. you make a good point, though, catalysts are much more useful than reactors, far fewer frames and sentinels. your RNG has been great for logins, if you're getting catalyst or reactor blueprints

I guess RNG has been happy with me idk. I'm not happy with it though, like many people.

But new players needs them

The game does give you 50 plat to start with. I've been quick enough to tell my friends that start playing to use that ASAP on buying a reactor, but unfortunately not all players know about these potatoes at the start and they waste the gift plat on revives...

Why spend starting plat on reactors or even catalysts? You can buy frame and weapon slots which are only attainable through event weapons and platinum purchase while reactors and catalysts are just given away.

In general, the lower numbers of frames and sentinels compared to number of available weapons, and the construction time differences between weapons and warframes, mean that reactors aren't as useful as catalysts are.

We get a maximum of one or two warframes and one sentinel per major update. In the same period of time we usually get two or three times that many weapons depending on whether or not we get new Primes.

This is also true. But for a starting player it's so hard to grind for mod space, and match that to the disproportionately hard first boss, and many players won't give two craps about how many weapon or warframe slots they have.

and i have a ungodly number of glaive, dual zoren, and gorgon blueprints.. but im not complaining because i know people want/ need them. I jsut so happen to get them all the time.

You can sell these for decent amounts of cash, though. Selling reactor blueprints when you don't quite have EVERY warframe yet but don't have plans on getting more is...well, wasteful. So they just sit around unused. I have many weapons not potatoed yet. Yeah, I could just buy them, but it would be nice if DE gave these out just a wee bit more easily.

What im telling you is that everyone has their own thing they get a lot of. I personally have never gotten a reactor out of the daily bonus wheel yet.

If they changed the ratio, everyone would have a pile of potatoes.

Then if not found through login rewards, maybe somewhere else. I just feel there is a bit of an imbalance, but at the same time maybe I just have been unlucky with RNG. As I said, it could be a nonissue. But the truth is that reactors are less useful than catalysts. I think it could be smart to reward them to the player for other things.

Maybe when you reach a mastery rank, you get the choice between a free reactor or free catalyst. Players who already have passed those ranks get reimbursed. It would make it hard for players who have all the Warframes though (important to get to rank 15 after all) and they probably used a lot of weapons for mastery fodder. Trying to fix it could lead to more issues, yeah. So maybe you're right and I'm wrong. But some way for players to get them on their own without paying or praying would be nice.
