Boltor Pr Build W/o Hc. + Synapse.

Hi there,

 

1. Boltor Prime - build without Heavy Caliber. Could it be better? OFC -2 Formas because of polarity swap.

And yes, I know how much HC adds to overall DPS output. If I change my mind I'll swap HV with it.

 

2. Synapse.

 

While I was looking for videos where gameplay with HC is shown I saw this:

 

Is this still strongest primary in Warframe?

1. i don´t go for dps , but hc is imo a must have for all weapons, the dmg+ per bullet is amazing, the acc. lost isn´t considerable

 

2. just no, its a rly good gun , but after 3 nerves it isn´t a beast like bevore

And for weapon like Boltor, which is not a long range/sniping precision rifle, what HC lvl is suggested? 3,4?

1. Build is correct, for Void. Has an extra Forma tho.

 

2. Yes Synapse is highest DPS weapon for Single Target against specific enemy types. For example it is extremely effective against Alloy based Grineer when built with Rad, but does less damage to Ferrite Grineer than a puncture based weapon with Rad, like a Rad built Boltor Prime.

 

It can also be highest DPS against Ancients but falls off vs lessers, highest DPS against Robots but a little poor vs Crewmen, etc.

 

My favorite use for it is Anti-Gunner in Void. Has the highest DPS against them of any weapon in game atm, and Corrupted Gunners are the strongest health sinks in Void missions.

Edit: Either use Full HC, R6, or none at all. Rank 8 is acceptable but then might as well use full. Rank 6 is acceptable with a 22.5% damage bump over using an elemental. By Rank 4, your ~12% damage bump isnt worth the loss of armor reducing proc, imo.

 

Edit2: HCal depends on whether you headshot. Maxxed out it's a 42% DPS bump over using a 60% element, but headshots are harder to get. And a head shot without HCal is ~42% more damage than a body shot with HCal.

Hm I always do. When it's possible. It's hard to get them at long distances because od spread/lack of Boltors accuracy. I use it at max mid distances and try to go for the head. For the time beign I'll ad 3rd 'stable' Forma (- polarity, or V polarity, can't remember).

 

I've got one HC, maybe until I get second one I'll skip HC. Then I'll use two version- @R6 and maxd.

who cares for dps? and yeah , headshoots are nice, but if u play rly long missions since a specific point u stopp aiming at the head cause there are to many enemys

Veeery similar.

 

Boar Prime can pull more DPS, but you will run out of ammo. Using Ammo Mut on it makes the DPS about the same. Also requires an extra Forma to max out.

 

Strun Wraith can get much higher damage/shot, and doesn't really need Ammo Mut. Can also use Vicious Spread without nerfing midrange DPS into the dirt. It might also have a longer falloff range, not totally sure. Comes with a forma so def better if you don't plan to max them.

 

Honestly I'd say SWraith is the better shotgun, but they're very close.
