Vaxillian Posted March 20, 2014 Share Posted March 20, 2014 (edited) Ok, so basically the way I see it, the invasions are getting a little old and it's time to add something new and possibly game changing (story-wise). I thought it'd be cool to be more interactive with the factions when fighting infected because as Lotus put it, "No one deserves the infection" -New mission type called escort •Lotus contacts the Leader of a squad (6 troops) to help them survive til they reach the artifact (even as much as both sides don't want to team up) •You escort your faction (Grineer or Corpus) to the Artifact •If you end up with at least 3 troops left, it leads up to Defense mission that has a limited number of waves •When you are done defending the artifact RNG comes into play to say whether the Grineer will call in support from a nearby Grineer ship to kill you OR to just let you take the artifact without saying anything Now this is just a little piece of it, I am still thinking of more to add to it. I don't generally suggest things but I thought that it's be cool to maybe add something like this to add more life to the game. Maybe instead of letting you get away with it, they call reinforcements and there could be a chance for a new type of boss. With that new type of boss we could get a new gun that could make up for the Brakk coming back instead of a new gun, that way everyone wins. 7grims Posted March 20, 2014 Share Posted March 20, 2014 Hostages have pretty low AI and everybody abandons them anyway, for this to work it haves to be very different. I have seen suggestion here on forums that work similar to this, but have a more valid dynamic mission type. This is, would rater see only a defense or survival mission type, were hostages are running to escape/evacuate to rescue ships, and its the job of the tenno to protect the bridge/room were those ppl are escaping true. And for that second part, I have no idea what you are trying to say. I mean linear mission versus dynamic missions. Linear mission -> exterminate, capture, spy, sabotage, etc Dynamic mission -> defense, survival, interception. The way I'm reading your idea, suggests you are thinking on a more linear type mission, those are what makes warframe a grind game and repetitive. And I meant if those hostages were to be protected in a more dynamic mission type, like defense or surv, it would be more fun to play. But yah you do make an reference of "...it leads up to Defense mission that has a limited number of waves" , I'm just saying in should be only that, since the escort part feels more like the linear mission system, that end up being boring and repetitive. Ok, I see what you're saying. But the reason I put the escort part in wasn't to grind for resources, I wanted it to be more interactive with factions, instead of having them just constantly fight. Yeah, the boss part makes it a bit of a grind but the chances of the item you get or what item you get isn't really up to me. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

That's what you wrote there.... Maybe the factions ask for Lotus' help and she sends a tenno squad. Or they deal directly with us via mail. But they ask for help and we agree or not..... and at the end we don't receive the artefact ... we receive the battle pay..... because that's how a deal is done.... if they ask you to help them reach a place ....you don't ask for what they found there ....you ask for what you agreed on, at the start. More ..... we help a faction because we want to ...not because they ask us. We coudn't care less if they need help or not ....we care if what the opposite faction does interferes with our agenda.... I believe that's the reason we have battle pay missions. Wait for the reputation system .....you will see a change than... I believe... You just completely turned a suggestion for a new game mode into something personal which seems absolutely unecissary. Instead of barging into someones personal life you should just give a straight up answer and not worry about what someone is like in the outside world.
