The Current State Of Recruiting And Trading Is Not Good

I have recently started using recruiting and trading a lot for their obvious reason as I progressed far into the game.

What I find bad about the current state is the large amount of people looking for hosts in the recruit chat and the people who spam an entire window worth of mods they want to sell in trading chat.

Let me start with the recruiting chat:

Most of the people who are hosting the void/derelict/missions have an exact purpose of finding specific items on specific keys, or they do it just for the money, either way they post a message saying that they have a session going on and want other people with like objectives to help the host in his endeavors. This is good, this is what recruiting should only be about.

But instead what do we get?

A bunch of people spamming "LF xxx", clogging the recruiting chat and shoving their need on other people's throats. People have no incentive to host a session just so you can get a ride along. People will not start sessions just because you wanted them to, they start it because THE HOST wants to, it's the host's time and keys that are going to be burned. I understand people are looking for certain items from the void (I am looking at you people who spam "LF T3 Ext"), but spamming your need to have someone invite you every second is just polluting the chat.

I went to the Japanese client of the game to check the status there and guess what?

Recruiting had no people saying "LF xxx" but only hosts posting what they were hosting. It was so tidy and organized. If someone's room was full they would post again that it was full, as a user for example this way you could see all the recent hosted sessions and pick whichever suited your needs. As a host you were not forced to re-post your message in fear of it getting washed away. That place was utopia I say.

Oh and in the day that there is a catalyst/reactor/forma/mod/helmet in alert it gets flooded even further with "LF Taxi". Just a friendly reminder that the people who are taxing you most probably already have the said item and are doing it out of their good will. I have almost been driven to ragequit when people that I was about to taxi spammed my squad with "GO" and "zzzzzzzzz".

What about the trading chat? :

Trading is also polluted by people trying to shove their merchandise up other people's throats.

The 2-minute interval between posting messages has backfired and is giving people incentive to write as much as they can in one single post, resulting in multiple walls of merchandise. Oh and wait until you see multiple walls that are all in caps, that thing is hell.

People do not understand that there is no need to supply if there is no demand. Wait for people to actually say what they want to buy and then PM them for the offer. This way everyone can have a clean trading chat where buyers will have their messages not flooded away by sellers and sellers can just look at the buyer's messages and can get a deal from them without the need to scroll up a thousand lines above due to spams.

TL;DR Stop using "LF" in recruiting, stop using "S>" in trading and we will have a better place.

Even though i have done everything adviced to get rid if the infamous "UPnP malfunctioning" message i still get it somedays, and i try to solo as much as possible, in my particular case i would really appreciate matchmaking for Orokin missions, because i would preffer SOME help instead of just NONE... and as recruiting is so tedious i usually just do the missions i can solo, or none at all.

Separate tabs for Recruiting: hosting / LF) and Trading: WTS / buyers would tidy things up a lot - in lieu of a better system.

A pox on those LF leeches. Especially during events.

That is what I am also thinking, afterwards you can just make chatbot ban whoever posts in the wrong tab.

Speaking of leeches, I was doing some tests earlier to see the mindset of people spamming LF.

I find those that want T3 hosts and PM them that I am going to host it for 3 plat if you really want the run that badly.

What I get in return are people who cannot comprehend as to why they need to pay for a free ride to a Rhino Prime piece, I then explain them my points that I stated above and I either get ignored or they are too dull to understand.

In my opinion LF is the same thing as buying a key, if you really need to do a specific mission type then either buy the key yourself or farm it yourself.

I saw "Why nobody is hosting T3???" in recruiting last night. People just leech, and dont bother about farming or using their keys. And yet they dare to complain about lack of T3 hosts.

Why do people whine about LF?

If you post you are hosting something it obviously means you're hoping people are looking to do that mission.

What's the big thing about people saying they are looking for one? Just means you can just directing invite some people instead of having a million people spam you with messages at once.

Seriously, this is nothing new to these types of chats.

I've started soloing mine if no friends are about, it isn't worth the hassle. If I'm hosting a key that offers a chance of a Rhino part, I get 25+ requests, and have had people throwing insults at me well into the match for not inviting them. Failing that, flat out begging.

Recruiting is for recruiting.Trading is for trading.
LF is annoying as hell when spammed by the same people. But i don't see why it should bother you.

It seem to me that you're crying about the fact that you have issue reading the name of who host what. Why?Because if you were the hoster who had to go with a "H>X" you would'nt have the need to read the chat in the first place. As you said, you went to japan and the hosting was perfectly organized.Meaning you're a leecher too, imho.
I'm forced to use recruit,i can't host game because my connection sucks. The only 2 time i hosted i got flamed and the party quitted leaving me in the middle of a md mission when i was low level.

Oh,and people asking for a taxi DO get one.i can confirm this, since i often ask for one during alert. If people are bored and they want to do the alert and see that other people are in need of a taxi, they will invite them instead of going in a random game.

About the trade chat...You're crying about the WTS? really? did you ever tried using WTS? people DO contact you.Trust me.I made over 800 plat this week with that "Useless" WTS.I deal in specific items so i don't do wall of text, and i do agree they can be annoying and a limitation on the lenght of the advertisement would be useful, but crying about the WTS in general is totally wrong.

TL;Dr:Recruit is fine.Trading is fine too,but they could implement a lenght  limit to advertisement.

You seem to be missing the point.

I was talking both for the good of hosts and clients altogether. As a host the main problem that you will have is people spamming "LF xxx" for a certain key type, for simplicity's sake let us make that a T3 ext key due to the huge Rhino Prime demands.

I, as a host am looking to host any other tower keys, however I get washed away by people looking to join T3 Ext keys. This makes it hard for people that want to join my keys harder to find me, forcing me to counter their spam with ... more spam.

I do partake in other people's sessions when they are hosting in the recruit chat, however I only do so when I see people post that they are actually hosting and have never shoved my needs in other people's sessions.

In regards for trading, good job on getting 800 plat with prime part selling.

Do not confuse resellers for actual customers though, posting mods/parts in bulk together with prices will get you more resellers than actual customers. Anyone would jump at people selling Split Chamber for 1 plat and then resell it for 5+ later on, or get a rhino prime part for 100 and resell it for 120 and so on. Actual customers are those who post what they want to buy and roam through the PMs and make a deal for a suitable price for both of them.

Hence this is why we need a Trading channel made for people that are selling and for people that are buying.

TL;DR Split Trading and Recruiting for Sellers/Buyers and LF/Hosting respectively.

To be fair, it is unwise of anyone to take you up on your offer. You could scam them very easily by taking their platinum and just ignoring them afterwards. A better test might be to say you are hosting a 35 minute ceres or pluto survival to farm T3 keys; This will separate the farmers from the leechers.

I agree but like you said, its utopia.

Not every culture is polite and organized as the Japanese.

In the current system of chat based trading and recruiting, chaos and flooding is inevitable.

I wish this game had a list of lobbies that we could just click to join.

And an auction house for trading.

I try to better this by making insane request when im finding meatbags for a lobby. Ill demand the potential people whisper me a word or a phrase, or demand that they Praise the Sun before i will go. In addition, i have 0 qualms about pulling my cat 5 if someone is being an immature idiot when im offering them to share my key or im playing the role of the taxi

Congradulations you are a Master 1 Excalibur with a braton on Pluto, its a shame you are so rude. have fun trying to solo the mission!

The Japanese client is like a place I use to flee and soothe my mind when I am about to explode from the immaturity of English client.

For those that are curious, Japanese people always PM you after a void/derelict run and say Thank You.

Some people even ask you if you want to have the prime part that they just got for the inconvenience. An interesting thing I find about them is that they always stick together, especially in survival missions mobile defense. Not the "Follow the leader" kind of sticking around but rather they all know how to synchronize as a team even if they are a PUG. If you took just 1% of the good stuff from the Japanese community and gave it to here, we would have a much better environment.

Definitley a cultural thing, for example,on BF4 i only ever play on asian servers now,i accept the increased latency for far better ingame behaviour from my teammates and the enemy team,no t-bagging(which is way overdone by westerners these days), your team mates always drop medpacks/ammo boxes when you ask for them, and they always say thankyou when you do the same for them...just a much more enjoyable enviroment playing with the asian region in games, and they generally work very well together in PUGS.

Anyway,agree with the OP.

Not so sure i'd like an auction house...no room for bargaining, and eventually it'll push all items to rock bottom prices as sellers try to outdo each others listings all day long(at least it'll push the prices on everything down at a much faster rate than the current trade system does)
