Big Bad Really Early Game?

I'm a really new player, playing Loki. I haven't leveled enough to get nice things, yet. I'm still rather awkward with the controls. My high-level friend decided to help me out on the fourth mission, because I lost all my respawns on the third while playing solo. He chose his weakest warframe, and turned off his sentinel, so we could actually do stuff, rather than breeze through too easily.

Immediately, this big-badguy comes out, smashes us both (I was told not to go near it, but it attacked me anyway), and now I'm told my character is weaker. I was already pretty weak before, but now I'm even weaker? This was my friend's rival villain thing, so why'd the minus even affect me? This seems particularly brutal and unfair for newbies, and doesn't seem to affect non-newbies that much. I can't even get the resources needed to remove it. Struggling as I was with this game, this feels like a punishment for asking for help or for trying to play with my high-leveled friends. I came away feeling kind of... cheated? Offended?

My friend assures me that it's a recent addition, and it'll probably be fixed to not happen soon, and that I'm probably the only newbie this has happened to. But that doesn't help me in my current situation unless a further patch removes the weakener thing from people who shouldn't have it yet. Am I stuck with this nonsense until I level up, open the areas required for the parts I need, and grind for stuff, so I can then make the thing that will finally let me play at the starting power level again? That's a daunting enough prospect that I'll probably just not continue playing unless I'm wrong, which sucks because the game otherwise looks really cool.

Woah, dude.

So wait, the Grustrag Three came after you and your friend, and because he was the target and they took you both down, it actually put the bolt on you?!

Wow, WOW.

HOLY @(*()$ S#&$ WOW.

It's true. We really don't get to keep new players. It's just the same 50 people everyday logging into warframe...

Anyways, Try as GraalOhOtonami said and submit a support ticket. No reason you should have to deal with this.

Edit: Would also just like to say that I'm extremely disappointed in some of DE's teams lately. Between the Broken Light Debacle, Frost's ups and downs, the interception missions difficulty being ramped up horrendously for new players, and now Helion's faulty quirks, I feel like they're just not thinking enough about what they're doing...

I don't see the big deal though. If you like this game enough, you would stick to it so I don't get how this is you being cheated etc. That's how things are, just adapt. When I was a noob to this game, Stalkers killed my a** all day everyday. Unfortunately the G3 for some are a bit tougher for some but say what it happens. Be reminded that the game is not after you lol, if you and your buddy got marked or one of yall, chances are that the G3 squad is gonna come after yall sooner or later.

Deal with it :)

The issue is that you're playing with a friend.It's his fault if you get into this mess,i mean,he was marked and he still joined.
The dev should make so that
A)stalker+g3 and so on can't spawn on low tier planet

B)If mastery rank < 5 (example) they give you a blueprint for the belt with simple material,or don't put a belt on you at all :|

@Capere

Yeah, the G3 has been known to do this. If everyone gets taken out then everyone gets the bolt. It nearly happened when I was helping new players in apollodorus. I'm just glad that I was a nova or it would have ended up with me taxi'ing them all sorts of places in the hopes we could get the materials to remove it.

The mat requirements for the bolts aren't an issue for vets. But for new players its insane.

@OP

You aren't the only new player this has happened to.

Horror stories of vets playing on apollodorus with a group of noobs, getting invaded, and then leaving so the rest of the low level people have to deal with the G3. Of course they lose and they get slapped with a bolt that reduces power damage to grineer and the vet gets off scott free. Its something that DE really needs to fix about them.

I would send in a support ticket from here:

support.warframe.com

And explain what happened and all that. DE is pretty good about things and will probably remove it free of charge.

The G3 are newish and still have some issues but hopefully DE gets around to fixing it soon.

@DrewEcho

That is a HORRIBLE attitude towards new players who have no chance of getting the mats for it and take a rather steep damage dealing penalty against grineer all because a vet joined and go the team destroyed by leaving when the G3 showed up.

A new player shouldn't have to just deal with it. There should be things in place that improve a new players experience, not ruin it.

And I'm guessing that you are one of the players that enjoys the interception missions current massive difficulty wall on Earth that completely blocks new players from having a hope of progressing through the game.

@Tsukinoki

Yeah, thanks. I have submitted a ticket. My friend is suggesting that he can skip me to later levels to get the parts quicker (risking the G3 showing up again), but if I could bypass that altogether, that would be nice.

@DrewEcho

I'm not here to play Demon's Souls, and it was never advertised as such. <_<

@AlbeyAmakiir

Hit me up in game any time if you need/want another person to play with. I've done quite a few new accounts and know how bad the game can be for new players. And an extra high level body to help you through missions to get the parts for the bolt couldn't hurt.

Though one thing to note: you can only ever have one G3 mark on you at a time. So as long as he doesn't do invasion missions where he sides against the Grineer you should be fine and not have to deal with them.

I unfortunately wasn't aware of the nature of the g3, I assumed the new invasions would be like the stalker: focused on their target but more than capable of collateral.

With another friend I had two stalker invasions very early and I tried to get the marks for it to happen then as it really is one of the coolest features. They make the game actually feel like it's taking place in a living universe.

While it makes sense for Grineer invaders to go after everyone (they're not exactly subtle people) the trollclamp for new players is obscene.

IMO they should only clamp people who have an active mark.

Stalker/Harvester/Grustrag 3 can certainly be a big problem for newer players. I remember that Stalker absolutely wrecked me the first time I ran into him. Balancing something like this must be anighmare when there might be 4 people af vastly different levels in the same match.

I had the same thing happen to me when I was running low level people through an alert.

Since I was not using my best gear the G3 destroyed me and my friends putting the bolt on all of us.

However this was not even close to an issue, as a high level player this was on my hands for letting it happen.

I took them to a Salad V, Hek and Kappa run and they were free in under 30 minutes.

Tell your friend to take responsibility and get you the materials to free you.

Hmm, this is broken that players with no deathmark get G3 bolt too, they shouldn't be punished just cause they happened to be in the same mission with marked players.  Its no biggie if you just get killed, but that bolt is unfair and gamebreaking for new players.

When I was a noob the Stalker was entirely avoidable and didn't slap a crippling debuff on me for being pimp slapped by a randomly generated, super-tough encounter. Take this from a veteran, being jumped by the G3 as a newbie is completely unreasonable, but hey, getting screwed by the RNG is basically what this game is about.
