Stormandreas
Hello everyone So I just recently managed to find some of the grineer traps... and am a little annoyed at them tbh. They are supposed to be MORE noticable than bright lightning covered lights.... how is THIS more noticeable? I fail to see how a very dark small spot is more noticable than a large, lit up light with MORE lighting effects on it, especially when running at speed through a room killing guys. What is everyone elses opinions on this? Have you had trouble seeing the trap at times?
Hawk_of_the_Reborn
Finally, I'm not the only one who dislikes these new "Traps"
halofury36
Honestly, my favorite thing about them is that they now give off an audible and visual clue to let you know they are there. I do find their placement to be both frustrating and confusing though... they are totally random and can either spawn solo or in large clusters... Solo is fine of course, but when they spawn in clusters, it can be pretty confusing and possibly deadly. Some seem to spawn near or in items, like the chests up against a wall. I like them better than the previous version by far, though. EDIT: for grammar and clarification Edited March 21, 2014 by halofury36
Komatoast
Some are spawning in walls now, you can't destroy them so they just keep zapping and zapping...
fpsbcheezit
Well, it completely nullifies the whole point of being invisible with Loki. So, that's cool... [/sarcasm]
zuraja
It was kind of funny watching the two Lokis in the Nightmare Alert I just ran getting repeatedly oneshot by these things. You guys still haven't thought through what these things do to pretty much anything that doesn't have Blessing or Iron Skin up on shield-disable nightmare missions have? TeflonDuck
Just ran a nightmare mode, threw myself into the online Queue on my Trinity(Screw you Arc Lights.. you're not zapping this lobster tailed tenno!) Upon zone in am I thankful for a mediocre internet connection as my party members got zapped to bleeding out status. So yeah... that happened. Oh, and they may not be spawning in the wall anymore, but them hiding behind things like the stand up resource green and red boxes is still happening(thank you Mod Shred punch through for not letting me look like a dumb person shooting a resource container for no good reason). It's pretty much a big eff you to the solo players and any new warframe. You could have at least given loki some sort of protection since he is usually .. well, you know, invisible.. and I don't see the arc traps normally spewing lightning until we walk past and it "sees" us. See, here's the thing, I was recommending friends from other games to come and play you.. I can't really do that now.. it would be like saying, "hey come get a free cattle prod colonoscopy". OVER and OVER and OVER Unfun guys, seriously unfun. And anyone supporting you on your little arc trap concept is probably a high end gamer with enough clan members to always get a clan group who already has every warframe available. Yes, by all means.. give us t4 keys.. heck, give us t6 or t7 keys if that = lvl 50,60 mobs to start with.. the end tier gamers need love too. But you are completely 100 percentally trying to procreate yourselves in the face when it comes to new player experience and you are disorienting a good chunk of the current base that is the casual gamer(who, in my experience are more likely to buy new warframes for cash than take the time to farm them.. since.. you know, they don't have the time for that but would still like to have super happy ninja fun). Currently the 3 friends who came on the most to form my core group have left the game. So that's 3 people who were paying irl money to you gone. I'm still around because... well, I like to ninja flip with a Jat Kittag on my back, and I love to go around in stealth and shoot stuff with a electric beam. AND I LOVE to Ninja flip on my Nova into a atomic bomb 4 while singing dust in the wind. So pretty please, fix the frakking lights. TeflonDuck
Or better yet, just unplug them.
NitroMidgets
It would make more sense if they were a bit more like a photo-optic triggered item then simply sensing a Tenno and zapping. Especially if you are going to have Loki around. It negates a key aspect of Loki.
Severuslanskerr
i know i stated this already but: There are two different probems: new tenno get killed pretty fast and veteran Tenno simply Rush though them! I think i have a great solution: make the traps like "beartraps" the player who runs straight into them (becasue they are about to rush the mission) get stuck for some seconds in place or knocked back ... to make it extra painful we could offer a helping hand to the players who are stuck in those traps to release them earlier! Its a Win/Win for all! They only get trapped if they dont look ahead and they wont look ahead if they try to rush! And with this its extra shameful if a new player "helps" a veteran player out of a trap because he wanted to rush XD
