Colour And Warframe

First: There are too many colours on quite a few colour pallets. If you can't tell the difference between one shade of grey and it's neighbours; it isn't realy a full colour pallet, is it? I think such pallets should be redone in a way that they loose the redundant two-percent-darker shades and instead offer more colours as replacement.

Secondly

saturated and infested are a little too liberal (especialy infested) Infested is what i'd like to call a clown pack. It's hideously jarring.

I own the infested pallet. If you hit randomize colours and get the infested pallet you look like... i can't even begin to describe it.

I'd suggest either;

A- lock it out from future purchase. Perhaps bragging rights for the nutters/tasteless who bought it in beta.

B- refund and delete. (refund in plat or maybe a 'get one free colour picker extension" ticket. 75 plat isn't a big deal though.)

I suppose it's a way to make money from jokers; but can you realy take the gritty grineer setting correctly when the guy next to you looks like he's made of playdough?

Lastly; prime.

Skins. If we can't get someone to spend a few hours on getting the colour picker to work on shiney items; the answer is skins. Separate textures. No, I don't mean forest camo or other such nonsense. Don't hurt me, forum overlords. The parts that are coloured with the colour picker don't change. The gold does.

- Silver.

Silver is probably the most wanted alternative to the prime gold. This is because it goes well with all colour schemes and on  it more easily fits in conjunction with non-prime items It should be available for free. It's a simple greyscale made lighter.

- platinum, Steel, iron, black

Simple darkenings/lightenings of the silver. You could make cash out of this, DE
-Copper, brass, white gold,  bronze
Darkenings/lightenings/ redenings without the greyscale. Not too difficult.  More plat.

and since these'd be reskins rather than evil shader work; any muppet with access to DE's computers should be able to do it.

I don't think they should remove the Infested palette because some of the colors do look well when it's used sparingly. In fact, many of those color looks great as energy.

However, I do believe the color does not, in any way, do the Infested justice. I don't even know how this could be labeled as Infested since it looks nothing like any we see often.

- The only neon green we see are from the energy areas of Toxic Ancients/Crawlers; the only saturated blue is from Lobbers and even then, they do not appear often enough to even represent the Infested. The other blue is Electric Crawlers, Ancient Disrupters and Runners/Chargers, but all of their blue is more accurately found in the Grineer palette since they're washed out.

- There's no purple nor saturated pink/magenta among the Infested, other than Lephantis (who came way after the Infested color pack IIRC).

- Where are the fleshy tones that is found in many infested units? Where are the washed out but colored greys and browns to match the infested sinews and fossilized skin of Lephantis? Where are the reds and dark oranges found on Phorid and infested pods?

- Why is it called the Infested pack if it doesn't even look like it belongs to them? How is it "inspired" from them?

Couple things.
1: Infested is supposed to be bright like that. I suggest using it for Energy, it delivers amazing colours for that. Also, if you don't like it, you don't use it. There's no reason for the Dev's to lock everyone else out from it just because you think it's a little garish.

2: If you would kindly look here: https://forums.warframe.com/index.php?/topic/184430-art-animation-hot-topics-21032014/
You will see that Skins for Prime weapons are not currently planned, and metallic colour palettes are absolutely impossible at the moment.

Also, this stuff isn't as easy as you think it is if you think a Muppet can do it.

Thank you for your time.

1:I use it for energy... The purple was not as good as led to believe

2: I believe they were refering to using normal skins, like forest or desert, on prime weapons. They haven't said anything about simple recolours.

It is so simple that a muppet could do it though. It might be tedious to do all of the numerous prime items we have, but it's still low on the difficulty spectrum for professional developers.

Nope, definitely there will be no recolours of the gold of primes.

It's not technically a prime if it isn't gold.

Draice made a post about it about a week ago.
