bejuizb
Hey everyone, As the title says, I just wanted to share some concept art for a new Warframe I have in mind. Her name is Snow, and she's supposed to be another ice-controlling Warframe, similar to Frost. I'm still working on colouring her and making her abilities, but the basic lineart is complete, so I'd like to gather the community's feedback for this idea. She does have cloth armour, similar to the material Banshee's pants are made of.

Kinperor
Why? You made a "cold" pun in a thread for a Frost frame alternative. It's an Internet-wide running gag that puns are bad. @ OP: Looks nice. Quite a nice and subtle transition from male!Frost to a female alternative. The only thing I can think of is that you should probably give her an AC unit, like Frost have. Maybe some sort of sleek backpack-like unit, similar to a thin and form-fitting biker backpack. I'm thinking if you make it large-ish enough, you can just ignore the ones that Frost has on his shoulder. I think the best visual for what I mean is the RIG system from Dead Space. Looking at your art, I think it can fit well. Edited March 22, 2014 by Kinperor

If you pay close attention, you can see circular nodes throughout; those are her A/C system. Edited March 22, 2014 by bejuizb
Kaokasalis
Does that mean she is more mobile than frost but also have lesser defense? Also i like the design on the warframe. It fits with the theme of warframes.

It fits with the theme of warframes. Thanks a lot! Glad to know she fits the theme Mynki follows XD She is fast and her abilities focus more on utility instead of defense or pure offense. She does have a few abilities that both defend her and do damage, but I'm in the process of typing it out right now, alongside colouring her. So stay tuned for those. Kinperor
Well, that's just my opinion and you make of it what you want, but I think the AC is too subtle, at least without vapor-effect like Frost has. On the other hand I think that, aesthetically, a more visible AC unit would give her a stronger bond with Frost. I noticed that you gave her a somewhat insectoid face already (at least, I believe it was the objective) and a longcoat. Short of giving her the same helmet, I do think that the back-AC of Frost is another important landmark of his design, and that a gender-bended Frost would do well to have a similar thing (the back of a frame is like 70% of what you see). With that said, I also think it would make her back more distinctive and look more covered than what you would see with say Mag. I made a quick modification to your drawing to show what I envision (forgive me for S#&$ting on your concept): But then again, it's your design, so yeah. I made it uniformly red, but really it can be covered in energy light, stylish pattern, AC holes with vapor and the likes, I just didn't feel really inspired to add those. Your design looks good regardless, really.
bejuizb
I get what you mean, Kinperor. I have an idea for her venting system, but I'm yet to sketch it.

bejuizb
Bad news. Like an idiot, I didn't draw my lineart in a separate layer, so I can remove the black lines from the white background for colouring purposes. All attempts end up leaving white blotches and aliasing near the black lines. Any help? Or am I stuffed, and need to redraw another pose?
Darktigr
Really cool, I think that they should start making more warframes with the same concept, like fire, ice, electric.

Just reading this sent a chill down my spine. I haven't actually succeeded a proper lineart salvaging, but if you are really desperate, you can try using the "sharpen" tool to try and make the black line more crisp (and less prone to anti-aliasing or white blotches) and maybe use the "blur" tool after that if the lines are too weird. You could also try messing with the layer property, so that it add additive (or the opposite, I forget) color to keep the black only. That, or just correcting manually the imperfection from the first operations you did. (The pain, my god the pain of that) Personally I'd just redraw in a new layer based the old lineart to salvage the lines manually.

I guess I have to redraw the thing, so I might as well focus on some other angles.
