Tiqalicious
I know there's a lot of mixed sentiment regarding rushing through levels as veterans tend to think of it as an essential way to play and newer players are frustrated about being left behind with nothing to do.I remember there was mention a few streams back of finding ways to match up teams more effectively so that new players would be teamed up with other new players and vets would be teamed with other vets in the hopes that this would calm things down a little bit but with the introduction of more cameras and such to the game I've noticed quite a few players feeling like they're now being punished for rushing through levels and being forced to slow down. I just wanted to get a conversation going regarding this and see how people feel. Do you think the game should be designed to force players to slow down a little or do you feel like we should be left to clear areas at our own pace? BrotherIcarus
I feel it is at a nice balance at the moment, there are benefits to rushing yes but there are also negatives to it so it is not just a simple "Got to go fast like Sanic" thing. NomadicVar
Are you speaking of the traps and such? I think they're an excellent idea but I want to still be able to rush. That being said, I want rushing to be slowed down by the difficulty of the match itself. Enemy level and strength, map hazards and so on. I'm hoping what they're doing is a move towards making the game more fun for more veteran players. Edited March 23, 2014 by NomadicVar

Blatantfool
I started to enjoy the game more when I stopped letting myself get hung up on clear speeds and instead focused on just matching my squad's pace.

Morec0
I started to enjoy the game more when I stopped letting myself get hung up on clear speeds and instead focused on just matching my squad's pace. I'm in agreement. I once had a moment where my entire squad, instead of just running to extraction, hung back and cleared every room on their way out. We worked together and covered each other from swarming enemies and fought our way to extraction for the win. It was the single most badass moment I've encountered in this game. And that is how I judge Warframe in the end: how badass can you make me feel? What can I do in your came to feel like an awesome space ninja? Running to the end, that's not badass. I want to see less people rushing and more people slowing down to take their time and enjoy being a badass, and if DE needs systems to do that and wants to evoke that kind of feel with their game then I support them 100%. Jag272
I agree on the point of balancing it out and potentially seperating low level players from high level matches. I will happily admit i often rush missions now, primarily because ive played them so many times that all the exploration factor has gone and the rewards for exploration arent that great, a few extra credits and possibly resources. However with how long ive been around the only resources im really lacking are boss farmable ones, cells, neural censors etc. This is not to say i dont work as a team on Defence/MD/Survival ofcourse, but missions such as capture i almost always rush because its simply more efficient. Im the kind of player that likes to be efficient with their time, a completionist too you might say, so when the mission itself is only worthwhile for the reward im naturally going to rush the reward. In a game as heavily reliant on RNG i think being time efficient is even more of a matter, its what makes the difference between farming that void part taking 2 hours or 5. In my opinion there are two main ways to solve this issue, though perhaps implementing both is a good idea. 1. Separate low levels from veteran matches, i think this should be done anyway or a great deal of fun is spoiled for the new players when a veteran appears in game with guns that remove all the challenge. Issue being not all high mastery players rush. 2. Make exploring more rewarding, at the moment it simply isn't worthwhile once you have even just some resources. If we were to implement both then not only do we have a situation were lower levels are not subjected to rushers unless they themselves wish to rush but also provides exploratory play at high level for those that wish it due to higher rewards for such play, it also means if we do for some reason get thrown into a lower level mission we still benefit from the mission in one aspect. I can also relate to the posts that were made while i was posting, rushing does not necessarily entail being ahead of the rest of your time. If im rushing a mission in a team i almost always play volt, i find it much more fun being able to speed up the mission while still keeping it enjoyable for the whole team, volt's speed keeps everyone on the same pacing generally while speeding up the mission as a whole. Ofcourse this only applies to certain mission types but i still think its a good step to take. Edited March 23, 2014 by Jag272

Right on. Some missions I'll complete fast. Some slow. I tend to make the same XP and Materials either way. I'm just trying to enjoy screwing around. Kalenath
Not every veteran has to go fast. I have had fast teams that worked very well in clearing everything. Then I have had teams where one member ran to the target, grabbed it and then waited for five or so minutes at the extraction -because he was in a hurry- and left the rest of us to fight our way out. And everything in between. Then -and this is my ABSOLUTE favorite memory of rushers- there was the time I was playing Loki and was helping a noob who was playing his third or fourth game. Two rushers ran all the way to the end and the noob disconnected. Ragequit or whatever, dunno. The rushers ignored all the mobs between the artifact and the end. Not important, you know. So there were 30+ bad guys in a room when I ran into it. Ran in, ran out with a whole bunch of Grineer chasing me. All the while, the rushers who I am being rude to in delaying are screaming at me and calling me names. So I entered the extraction zone, and stopped JUST short of the exit. They had been using up all of their energy, so they only had their guns when the 30+ Grineer followed me into the room. I hit invisibility and walked out. I laughed and laughed and laughed as they died, revived and died again. Both of THEM ragequit. Ah, the memories. Haven't managed to do that since. Maybe someday. Dalu__Ka
I'm rank 15, a little over 1000 hours playtime, and the only missions I rush are the potato invasions. There are always exceptions to the rule :)

Sixty5
Players like you allowed me to get the 1k revive achiev Preciate it boss! I think you misinterpreted what I was saying... As a player capable of soloing pretty much everything the game has to offer, the only reason I have to stick with my team in normal missions, is to carry them through it. To be fair though, I mostly play survival/defense/mdef where you cannot really rush through the mission
Sloan441
If you make the effort to stay with your team, the game goes a lot more smoothly. It's also more fun. The only mission type where this is a real problem are the invasions. It's a primary reason I rarely do these anymore. I just don't like dealing with the mindless rushrushrush crap. Even the lure of an orokin cell isn't worth enduring this lot. When I do feel the need of a deathmark, I generally use Zephyr to minimize the hassle factor in dealing with rushers. Having said that, I won't revive them if their own stupidity gets them killed (and it happens fairly frequently). Frankly, the game is more enjoyable if they're in spectator mode. If they're particularly obnoxious (bogarting elevators and the like), then it's time to play a different game. That game is called resource scrounging and/or finishing my codex. Just the way of it. Tsunero
I rush a lot, silly traps can't stop me! You don't even have to be a new player to rush, I kind of started doing it after one week because most of the time there is no point going slowly.
