Elemental Damage Question?

It's all here...

Personally I run Corrosive (Toxin+Electric) for Grineer and Cold for Corpus shields and slow.  Since there are no Infested except for the odd invasion I no longer use Fire elemental mods but stack multiple (not duplicate) Toxin or Electric mods for greater Corrosive damage.

viral is bad for infested

Fire+Poison -> light infested

Electric+Poison -> light grineer, grineer heavy gunners, ancient disrupter and toxic ancient

Electric+Fire -> grineer napalm and bombar, ancient healer, corrupted grineer in void, robotics

electric+cold -> shields (so, corpus)

I always recommend to build your elemental damage based on the heavy units of that specific mission.

For example

Low-mid level Grineer maps usually only have the Heavy Gunner as their heavy units. So use corrosive. If you have all the event mods, you can equip 2 electric mods and 2 toxin mods. For the max corrosive damage. Otherwise, use the other elements that you can fit as secondary.

Mid to high level have Napalms, Bombards, and lots of Eviscerators. In this case I like to go Radiation as the main element.

I'd suggest to check out the wiki: http://warframe.wikia.com/wiki/Damage_2.0

Still use it from time to time.

Yes, yes. Just go ahead and directly say that when I did a two hour run on infested survival and had better luck with Viral than corrosion. It halves their health.

Of @(*()$ course Viral is better than Corrosive on Infested. You went from using worse to bad, so obviously you'll say it's better. Try Gas.

Gas is only good for the light infested, when the ancients are the biggest threat. Bringing a weapon with decent slash damage as base, then using Corrosive, usually rounds you out pretty good for all Infested units.

Anyways, it depends on whether you use a gun that procs frequently. Viral proc is good for Infested because they have mainly health, but if you don't use a weapon with good status chance, it'll be wasted, so Corrosive or Gas would be better, because of the damage multipliers.

But in short, damage-wise Viral is good for lightly armored Grineer, Corrosive is good for lower level Grineer units and Heavy Gunners, as well as Toxic, Disruptor, and Corrupted Ancients, Radiation is good for higher level Grineer units (Elite Lancers) and heavy units such as Bombards, Gas is good if you have a lot of light Infested to deal with, and not much in the way of Ancients, and for Corpus, either Magnetic to knock down their shields quickly, or stacked Toxin to bypass the shields completely with the proc.

So i shouldn't use all elemental mods at once?

No you shouldn't and no you cant since half of the elementals are combinations of others. So the max number of elementals you can have is 3 if your weapon has a base "double" elemental.

That was the point of Damage 2.0. Before you had 4 elementals that did not get damage reduction and had a 100% chance to proc witch was seriously OP.

Spend some time with the damage table and you will soon know it by heart. That is unless DE makes changes every week like early u11
