Is This A Decent Synapse Build?

Question

I've been rolling with the Synapse for a long time now and I love it to death. But the beast is either showing its age or I mucked up somewhere when building it because I for the life of me cannot have it instantly vaporize things beyond the 30 minute timer in a T1 Void survival run.

 

Maybe it is not meant to one-shot vaporize stuff beyond 30 minutes? What is the level cap of my all-time favorite weapon with this build? What would be a better all-round build?

It does seem decent enough but you can do a few thing:

- Synapse reaches 100% crit chance with a rank 3 Point Strike. Try to do that and switch place with Vital Sense to save capacity points for further Serration and Heavy Caliber leveling.

- Put Stormbringer in your last empty slot to get MOAR CORROSIVE. That's arguably the best elemental for Void. I can still vaporize enemies at 25+ minutes in a T3 Survival, some with a bit more difficulty, but headshot crit destroys them. Mine is one less forma-ed than yours.

well its not really a build, first of all take some point away from point strike if needed and put another mod on that polarity, second try to max that serration and hc, third thing is complete the elemental combo, you have 11 points for a maxed storm bringer and i dont understand why you didn't put that on there, and the build would probably be alright.

a) you need to aim for headshots now - they have a 4x multiplier.

b) they changed the firing mechanism so damage done is delayed into 1 secon intervals, so it wont melt lower lvl stuff instantly anymore - but does the same overall DPS

c) You can swap Hammer Shot for Speed Trigger for more DPS but more ammo used.

 

As mentioned, Stormbringer goes in that empty slot, and dropping Point Strike a few ranks gives you room to level Serr/HCal more.

Status chance not working so well for Synapse due to it'd low proc chance and continuity weapon only proc per sec. Focus on building the critical chance and damage and three elemental mod. Corrosive cold is the overall good choice. A third elemental mod will increase your dps more than hammer shot.

Why isn't anyone using High Voltage instead of Stormbringer is beyond me...

"moar dps". As they probly say. Honestly the Synapse doesn't need much more DPS than it already has. I'd rather go with High Voltage/Malignant Force for the extra status chance.

Because most of the times, enemies die fast enough that you don't even need to proc. With the Synapse and its insane DPS when doing headshots especially, you barely need status chance.

 

By the way, that's coming from a guy who do use those dual stats mods since I personally prefer that, but in overall usefulness, it's not that necessary over straight DPS with Synapse.

How fast are we talking about? Because I've seen Boltor Prime and Soma killing speeds, which are insane...

Probably about as much, and sometimes it can even be faster. A single click (not even one second) towards the chest/head area of a high level T3 Heavy Grineer, and a 20k damage pops out as it dies.

Though I'm not the kind of person really interested in the maths, I tried using DPSframe to see the different approximations. If you replace Hammer Shot with Cryo Rounds, it deals less DPS. However, it's still a good choice to take out shields.

 

Also, Malignant Force seem to give less DPS than Hammer Shot. Considering how the multiplier works with crits VS headshots, I'm not surprised.
