Helmets Stats Or Not?

Can I get the communities opinion on whether everyone who already has helmets should get to keep the stat versions of helmets, or should all players lose stat helmets to prevent more early beta exclusives that will no longer be able to be obtained.

I personally feel that all helms should lose stats whether you already have the helm or not.

However that the helmets should remain in alert missions instead of becoming like the syandanas and immortal skins.

This would allow free players some way to customize themselves without spending money.

TLDR: should we get to keep our stat helms when they become cosmetic items for everyone else and why?

most of you so far think its a good idea to let current players keep stat helms but is this fair to newer players who wont have access to them?

It's obviously not fair. If they make acquirable bonus stats just like the ones we have now but not tied to the helmets, then it wouldn't be a problem. Otherwise, it will only further increase the gap between veterans and newbies, which is IMO a bad idea because it can drive potential new players away.

You are worrying about the player experience for helmets they probably won't even get until about a month of playing. It is how the cookie crumbles if you weren't there to get it then there is nothing you can do.

De might bring them back in another form but doubts are high. Sorry to sound cruel but helmets don't make or break a warframe so new players will be fine.

I almost have all the alternate helmets... and I really don't care.

It always seemed strange to me that something design related would affect the actual stats.

So.... I really don't mind wether the stats are removed or not.

I always choose the helmets based on wether I like the design or not anyway. Their stats are too minor to bother me anyways.

HawktheHeavy actually no its not fair to not allow new players to have access to the founder gear as it has a signifigant impact on the game but that isn't the topic of the post and its been debated to death personally I think they should be released into the game a long time down the road just like all the other prime items to be farmed but that's not the topic of this post

You might think what you want about Founders, but it is not coming back, nor you will have Primes from Founder packs.

Well, DE is changing this game ( for worse or better, we shall see with time ) and some changes are bad, and some arent. If you join game in six months, you will not feel any difference if you dont have any stats on helmets. New player? Though luck for joining Warframe after certain updates.

first off I was here since the start giving money so the game can stay open without us first supporters the game wouldn't be here for you guys new guys to even play . so yes its completely fair and you can stuff it . because its litterally not my fault that you came into this game later then I . No you shouldn't have access to those items because you werent there. its like crying about a event item you werent even there for its ridiculous. you miss the event you don't get the item. YOU WEREN'T THERE YOU DON'T GET THE HELMS WITH STATS STOP CRYING ABOUT IT!!!!!!!!

I'd prefer if they removed the stats from the helmets, so I won't feel stupid if I choose the vanilla version over a helmet I consider ugly but has good stats (looking at you Aura Trinity helmet). I think it would be better to separate the stats from the helmets, which should only be for aesthetic value. I'm not even crafting other helmets which have good stats but I don't like, so I don't have to intentionally gimp myself.

I agree here. Some things just make the game much too easy and Rhino doesn't need to be like that.

Well Scott's view on this was, to paraphrase: "Those who have them can keep them.  Congrats, you're a beta tester, you were here early."

I see nothing majorly wrong with this.

Here are a few things wrong with it, from a post I made in a different thread:

... there are multiple very strong reasons why this decision is completely stupid:

1. It does absolutely nothing to fix the main problem with stat helms where you want the stat boost of one helm, but the looks of another. I would love to ditch Loki's Essense helm, but I can't do so without gimping him in a major way.

2. It locks newer players out of the best possible Warframe builds, and possibly opens the door for discrimination against them. I can already imagine that we will start seeing messages in recruiting like this: "Hosting _____, looking for Trinity (MUST have stat Aura helm)". See the problem here?

3. It is confusing, especially to newer players (Why is his Rhino way faster than mine?, Why can his Loki keep his cloak up way longer than mine?)

4. It is a pretty lazy solution. DE either needs to make the difficult decision to remove stats from all helmets, or actually go thru the effort of seperating stats from helmets. Instead it seems that DE wants to remove stats from all helmets, but they also do not want to deal with any negative backlash from doing so. DE needs to learn that they can't have their cake and eat it too.

I'd be fine with stats being removed from all helmets.  Seriously, the stats on them are not a big deal and in many cases are actually detrimental.  The only one that is a real game-changer in any way is Vanguard, which plenty of people (myself included) are not exactly fond of existing to begin with.

That said, I think the best compromise is probably to segregate the stats and helms into separate things entirely...  And maybe rebalance the stats.  Most of them just make no sense at all.

Helmet stats yes or no?

* If those stats can be done with balance in mind, allowing for options and fun but being balanced, then by all means YES.

* but if we are going to get more Vanguard helmets then NO, NO, NO. Remove all stats.
