Oxium Drones

Is anyone else annoyed by those dumb Oxium drones? My main problem with them is that they keep suiciding, they looks cool, are very strong opponents and in general they are fun to fight, right up until the charge you and explode doing maybe 100 shield damage? Wheres is the fun in that, oh and they dont drop oxium if they suicide, so you have to kill them before they charge and hit something lol.

I think it would be better if they charged you, did good damage, knocked you over like ancients or shield grineer do, but didnt explode on contact and remained a threat and fun new enemy to deal with. Thoughts?

Dodging prevents them from exploding.

Bring a weapon that has good damage output.

Spam powers.

Keep your distance.

And high electrical damage on top of that.

They require you to be careful and nimble about killing them. Instead of bullrushing them with 0 thought.

Which equals an interesting enemy in my book.

And they do drop Oxium 100% of the time, if you get the kill. So why not.

It suciding is interesting. We have drones that shield, create mines, lazers, so this attack from the oxium osprey makes the game fun by giving a new type of enemy prioritization

you just dont get it lol

if they didnt suicide it would be interesting and fun because they got lots of health, tough armor and good gun, but they never use them, they just suicide causing you no harm (well, 100-120 shield damage when I got 1100)

its not about how to kill them easier, usually I dont even need to shoot, they just ram into me and die, thats boring

So it is about killing them faster. If you don't shoot them they explode.

How is it boring to only have a limited time frame to kill them? If anything it makes it more challenging,

It is kind of ironic that one of the few interesting and entertaining to fight Corpus enemies was also given a propensity for blowing itself up no more than five seconds into a fight.

Come on DE, give us some Corpus units that can actually take a hit.

Half the time, I somehow manage to kill them near an edge and there goes my oxium.  I've hopped over the railing many a time to try and grab it or at least hope the Carrier snags it.

Not that I have issues with the mechanic - my own fault for not paying attention to where it is when it's about to die.

100% of the time, I think I smell BS

Making them behave like ancients would make the game feel dry, I personally enjoy the new style of behavior. Instead of running in head first, you have to take a different, more careful approach if you want to be rewarded.

none of you get the point...

I'm sure people would be fine with Corpus getting a "heavy", something that they sort of lack now.

However, the Oxium drones shouldn't be them.  They're a unique thing in and of themselves, being the source of Oxium and forcing you to kill them before some incidental damage makes them kill themselves.
