(PSN)DaPlaybook Posted March 25, 2014 Share Posted March 25, 2014 as much as i'm sure the PC players love the frequency of new gear drops, do you think they'd be ok if DE slowed down on the PC updates so that PS4 can catch up? yes this question is intended for PC players to comment upon. Warframe is a great game and i like the direction it is headed but i don't much like the spoilers. it'd be nice for a new event to drop for us and for wiki to not have the answers. PC players, you're getting Melee 2.0 next, will you be content with that untill DE brings us up to speed? (constructive feedback is welcome) P.S. The last update took 2 weeks to hit. We get the content first so that we can test it for you, we go through all the horrible bugs and glitches or things that might just be wrong in general so you guys over on the PS4 don't have to. Mickey1779 Posted March 25, 2014 Share Posted March 25, 2014 My understanding is that the Sony Certification process for updates takes a few days or more as such the PS4 version of Warframe will generally be one to two patches behind the PC since PC patches can be rolled out as soon as they are compiled and hotfixed generally within hours. Rolling out an untested patch on the PS4 could leave the game in an unplayable state until a subsequent hotfix could get certified by Sony which would obviously be unacceptable to all. We are catching all those nasty bugs and DE is fixing them, so you can get full package with as little bugs as possible. There are even 3 hotfixes in the very day the update got released. They release the updates as soon as they are done. Also how would you catching up improve anything? You'd just get left behind at the next update. The cert process takes far too long for DE to release weekly updates for both to stay in sync the whole time. Just look at it this way; we test everything for you and you don't get any annoying bugs / features ie; Broken Lights. Um wrong. The PS4 has plenty of bugs. My game crashed like 20 times since update 12 came out. Why not take the portion of the money that this game makes and invest it into beta testers? Or have Public test like World Of Warcraft before releasing a patch. This is just bad development to begin with imho. You are telling PC players enjoy being paying bug testers? Why not simply hire a small team of 5-10 players that are professional testers, that all they do is beta test the game Like in the movie Grandma's boy. The point is there is no reason for DE to hold back content they could release and get feedback on (example in the most recent update coming to you are electric traps and frost tweaks). And it isn't just allowing ps4 to catch up they would need to hold off the updates to be released in bundles to keep them in sync. sony has upped there game. we're getting updates in 2 weeks or less if you can't wait 2 weeks that's just being greedy. DE has both pc's and ps4's in their possession. and to me i feel as if it would be easier for them to develop these updates for the playstation, because unlike a pc's all ps4's are the same. modification on the ps4 is not possible, so there for they have no tinkering or tempering with the compatibility of a ps4, but they have to hotfix or modify the game for pc's because of the functionality of your computers, every computer is different, they run with different components, some people have super powerful computers as some just have basic or poopy ones. and DE has to take that in account and create updates that would work for all your computers and be up to par with your expectations, but the ps4 its all the same ish so i mean they have a lot less road blocks and problems to deal with so i see no problem in them catching up with the pc. but because of you founders that oppose the ps4 DE is holding back on us Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Far too much of the certification process is dependent on platform specific features. As you've already noted, certification isn't actually about game bugs, since those make it through just fine. It's largely about ensuring it doesn't fry your PS4, cause hard locks or delete your save games for every game or anything like that. It's not about making the game bug free. Quite the opposite - it ensures your PS4 doesn't catch fire, and if leaving those game-breaking bugs in for another 2 weeks is what's required for Sony to believe that, so be it. Which means the PC players would just be getting delays in fixes for no reason. It would be nice and all if you guys didn't have to wait for DE to jump through Sony's hoops, but unfortunately that's the reality on your platform of choice. It would be nice if you didn't have to suffer - check a "I realize this isn't certified and Sony won't help if it bricks my system". But that's between you and Sony, and I see no reason to delay updates on the PC for that. Greedy? Maybe. (PSN)DuttyBonez Posted March 25, 2014 Share Posted March 25, 2014 what makes you so special? because your a founder? because u spent 300$ and got a warframe and some other stuff... come on dude its 2014 its not like were in 2000's were shyit was pixilated and it took 10 years to develop a game... we have technology way beyond what most people can fathom. so i mean for you to comment with your poopy opinions on your interest is just totally not wanted here. if you had not interest you would have never clicked on this forum or took the time to type up such a long comment. this forum is to support PS4 users and for you guys to come to an agreement with us for us to work on an even footing. i like playing games just like you do, the platform is just a playing style and convenience think. no body forced you to choose pc over ps4 and nobody forces us to do the same. just as you would like to get your updates sooner we want them too. so stop being unreasonable and take into account that you guys are not DE and you guys are not working for them. your not different than us or than someone who just downloaded the game. As for spoiling the story, what story? sarcasm, i speek it do you? and as for the story... there is a story being told through the events & darvo's alerts. i'd have liked to get the last alert from darvo & been surprised by the cameo of his father. but no a full prime time episode did a lets play on it a whole month prior.
