The Only Way To Make Everyone Happy Over The Helmet Stats

It's really simple actually

 

1 Slot for cosmetics on helmets

 

1 Slot in a helmet for a trade-off card or upgrade of some sort or even an entirely different slot just called trade-off with the helmet effects inside.

 

This solution has no downsides besides that we'd be skipping the current solution of making everyone's beta boner bigger and ruining part of the game for newbies.  I understand that the devs made a mistake giving the helmets stats in the first place but creating an even bigger divide in power between new and old players is a bad idea.  It would be healthier overall for the two traits of the helmets to split and then for the blatantly overpowered trade-offs (Vanguard, Phoenix, Pendragon, Aurora, etc.) to be balanced since they'd no longer be in direct conflict with something you buy with platinum while also letting all the frames benefit from having these trade-offs.  I don't see how anyone could be unhappy with it if it was done this way outside of just wanting to be "better" than the people that will come to the game after them.  On a side note this solution of letting us keep the stat helmets still gives me no incentive to wear the Thrak helmet I love so much when Vanguard is the obvious choice.

I never understood the rage of the helms with or without stats. The stats are small and barely make a difference. I don't get what the big deal is.

This is the Warframe communtiy you're talking about. Anything that changes deserves thousands of butthurt threads. No one adapts thier playstyle to the changes.

Pendragon

15% power strength

-5% armor

Aurora

25% armor

-5% health

Aura

25% duration

-5% health

 

The list goes on and on almost all of them are fairly significant and these are just some decent ones

Separating stats from aestethic is asked since the first introduction of the first wave of helmets 2.0

but DE refuse to do it and dont even give an answer about it.

 

what a shame, they just need to add a line in the UI and it would be done.

Perhaps give the stats on the helmets an on/off toggle so the player can decide? Seems the simplest of all...

Having a toggle still means you'd choose the one with the good stats to toggle on which only solves the problem on helmets you don't like the stats of

everyone's happy .

 

removing it - well, expect the future people to complain "why my helmets has no stats" threads

Exactly we need to be able to choose separately from the cosmetics what the helmets do for us

They mentioned it in the livestream that they would definitely bring statless helmets now.

I've never seen forums have this many butthurt threads over legacy items. People act like WF is the first game to do it when PoE has quite a few legacy items that work in a similar way.

PoE nerfed a few items and let the people that already had them keep the un-nerfed item while any new players get the nerfed version. Sure there was a stink raised on the PoE forums but it was no where near as bad as what is being raised here about the stated helmets. Even when they did it to Silverbranch or Kaom's heart...this forum just gets ridiculous.

I do agree that that would be a better option, and hopefully DE will listen. Though either way the rage should die down fast enough...

I'm not particularly mad about the change because no matter what happens I'll still have the helmets with stats but I think the community as a whole does/should want it to be handled in a better way where everyone can be ok with the decision.  Besides if we don't tell them something could be handled better they may never know.

Aura Trinity and Vanguard rhino would like to have a quick word.

okay...trinity and rhino are the only 2 who have differences but the rest dont even shine out...i mean like some shield reduction helm (takes off about 30-40 shield?) ppl dont even see the diference ;o or do they e.e?

I completely agree with that. Its just the pure amount of rage threads that aren't suggesting anything and just complaining gets to be rather tiresome.

And I do agree that it's important to make our voices heard and I'm glad you're doing it in a constructive way. Sadly most of the threads here aren't and I was just commenting on them...

why not make every helmet come with no stats... and then players can upgrade which ever helmet they want for 10p or whatever price. so for example if you had a frost you simply choose the squal helmet that comes with no stats. than if you want you can pay the 10p to add either armor or power buff to it. once each power is purchased per warframe you can toggle between the power buffs to assign which ever you please. or completely leave them statless...for whatever reason...

I'd argue that Loki's Essence helmet or Nyx's Vespa helmet have an even greater effect than those two.  In combination with cards the effects of many helmets can make or break entire builds.  Even Volt's helmets have significant differences for how he's used and he's widely considered to be one of the worst frames even though I personally don't think so.

The problem with that suggestion is that then it means you can buy an amount of raw power with real cash which is frowned upon heavily by many players.  If we were able to buy the helmets and then have a choice between farming the thing that gives it stats or buying it that'd be fine but simply leaving it in the shop simply wouldn't do since it goes against how they've done things so far(They've been quite player friendly in terms of any way to purchase power).

Or the community could be mad and they can do it another better way just taking everything the devs say as final isn't a good way to handle it.  What if they decided tomorrow that being able to buy blueprints with credits is a bad idea and change everything to platinum would you simply "deal"?

they have been selling stat helmets for 75p...so they are already have been doing it. but they do have alerts for helmets. simply have alerts for the powers.. simple solutions....
