(PSN)infinite_avalon
So lame. So now any newb with some extra cash in their pocket can just go buy prime gear? Now its not exclusive at all and no different then any other weapon except for some slightly buffed stats. Now its not at all special to have prime gear, it doesn't show that you have worked hard in the game to get something that others only wish they had the skills to get. Might as well just be covered in polished brass instead of gold. Horrible idea DE just horrible.

Letter13
Instead of players working hard in game to get the parts from drops, they're working hard in real life to make some money with which they can use to buy platinum which they can then barter with in order to obtain prime blueprints and components. Either way you have people working for it.
Katakuna
Yeah, sucks that people hate grinding. Y'know, some people value their time over their money. People who spend more time at work than playing games, for example.

Aercascade
Where were you when we discussed this? It's not a bad idea. It means when they add new pieces into the void we're not stuck with tons of rubbish parts we don't need. I'm not spending all of my time in the void only to get every blueprint other than what I want. I find the concept of some rich warframe entrepreneur just buying blueprints laughable. Tough on them if they wanna buy blueprints and avoid the whole point of playing the game. LET THEM DO IT. In the end they'll be the ones leaving it because they've got everything. Nobody is forcing you to trade platinums. Unlike you there are players like me who spend hours and hours getting messed over by RNG. What's wrong with me wanting to exchange parts I don't need for parts I do? What on earth is your problem with me giving another player a part they want? Cry all you want this a feature I think is great. Don't even start on "b-but I worked hard for it others should have to aswell" that's a bad attitude and I'm sick of it. Instead of players working hard in game to get the parts from drops, they're working hard in real life to make some money with which they can use to buy platinum which they can then barter with in order to obtain prime blueprints and components. Either way you have people working for it. This too, this completely. I have college, I have to contend with real life. I'd love to sit on my butt and play this game 24/7 but I can't. I can't even earn proper money because work in my area is hard to get. So i rely on making a bit here and there on YT videos instead. You think I'm complaining that somebody who worked hard for THEIR money should get stuff with it? No. Edited March 25, 2014 by Sutherland
(PSN)MyTagForHalo
*facepalm* well, you knew these threads were coming.. Threads like these start on the PC, get settled.. then the exact same threads start up because no one reads the forums or uses google. Hooray for PS4 updates.. But yes, it is a dumb idea in the first place, but some people have alot of prime parts (myself included) that i can get rid of, and maybe grab some new ones. Well I have two primes which I bought through platinum, which I didn't pay for because you can farm it in-game. @ OP Either way I support them being tradeable. Almost all MMOs allow nearly every piece of equipment or item to be traded so why not warframe? It's just merchanting man. They're cool looking (taste is highly subjective though) items that we use to kill virtual enemies in a game. The guns themselves don't benefit the player, but knowledge/skill in how to use and mod them does.

Sapphirya
It does more so than just buying it. Buying stuff ingame requires Platinum, platinum being earned by trading rare mods, which need to be worked for, or straight-up buying platinum, which takes money, which you may have noticed, isn't free. Either way, work is being done to get that platinum. Getting prime parts takes skill? Gimme a break. Any noobie can bumble into a low-leveled void run and get blueprints and parts. Make some friends there, get carried through the higher ones, like the hordes of people who shout for taxis whenever a cool alert in a high-level area pops up. Don't confuse luck and/or having free time with skill, because at the moment, pretty much nothing in the game takes skill to get, even without trading. Maybe the Brakk, because G3 can wipe the floor with quite a few players.
(PSN)infinite_avalon
Oh my most sincere apologies for taking a moment to express my feelings on the issue! Please forgive me all gods of the forums!! I agree that most gear should be tradeable. However there should still be hard to get gear that can only be earned through grinding. Prime gear was a great way to do this. Also thanks for the assumptions that I am just a non bill paying basement dweller. I do work and pay my own bills thank you and and I also buy my own plat when I want it. I just prefer not to spend it on stuff that can be earned for free. I'm sorry that RNG is tough sometimes but thats what made the prime gear special. Maybe the RNG could have been adjusted instead of just flooding the market with everybodies scraps. MrJxt
Getting prime parts in only 1 run does not take skill or hard work. I literally farmed the Boltor prime in under an hour.
MeduSalem
That's why they should have made Prime items mastery rank dependend and that you've to be at like Mastery Rank 10 or whatever to trade that stuff... So you're only trading them if you are really out of luck and not because you are a newcomer who wants to get the shiny gear right away. Same for the damn mods... Buy a maxed out Serration on Mastery Rank 2? Same horsesh*t that skips the game for most people and then they all end up here complaining about how there's no challenge in the game anymore or no endgame. Oh god. Second wave of prime parts whine is incoming. Feast! :D

I fully support them being tradeable. provided there is a declining trend to guarantee the movement of money. VALVe knows that, and skims a small percentage off of market sales. it guarantees a declining trend. Warframe... doesn't have a declining trend. The Void doesn't require additional skill, just a key. Getting something you want from it requires luck. The OP has mistaken luck for skill....This is a common mistake made by people worldwide at Casinos and shady Carnivals daily. The folks in those communities used to refer to those types of players as "Pigeons" or "Marks". My advice: Don't be that Mark.

Well, that escalated quickly You really wont find too much sympathy when a forum has discussed the topic to death. And yes, the general stupidity that is the forums is: "when people complain about platinum prices, or complaining in general, then they must just want something for free", i hear ya in that sense.
