Elestor
Notes : Some time ago i thought that since systems have gained unique tilesets , they should also get unique mission types as well. For Neptune: Transition A watery map (neptune type atmosphere) where stations can be found suffering at the hands of the elements. Mission description : Mission starts out as a normal exterminate . The mission is interrupted by the crashing of a meteor into the sea in the far distance, urging you to get to IMMEDIATE EXTRACTION. Elements in the map such as pathways and bridges are swept away forceing you to change dirrection. Shortly as you get near extraction the ship is damaged and swept away by the water . You receive a transmission from the LOTUS . " Tenno , that was no meteor ... It gave an orokin signature right before impact . We need to investigate the wreckage.. before the remainder of the signal is lost" " Tenno you are now required to go to the crash location, The corpus have also detected the signal and are now heading to its location. Stop them " " I have sent a second extraction ship, but you have to fend off the corpus and their ships on the way. Good luck Tenno" A Liset type ship appears (extraction ship) and you are requested to jump on top of it . You get to ride the Liset as it makes it way above the water to the crash site. New objective : - destroy corpus ships(boat like smaller ships) that are heading that way - a Timer is running untill the signal disappears (meaning if it reaches 0 it has sunk or has been destroyed) - both mean failure - you must get there FIRST (weather may slow you down in areas) - if not failure Rewards : - New mods - rare item (determined by DE :P) - Even badge (if its not made into a mission and just an event) - Liset customization (decals , emblems etc.) - very small chance to get a surf board like melee weapon - small chance to get a hover board for the clan (If DE deem it possible) Idea In short : something crashed -> go get it. To make it fun , you surf and shoot on top of your ship :) Idea behind this is to have a dynamic , and challenging mission. Having fast passed requairments , such as getting to the objective first but at the same time shooting and killing the enemy before the timer runs out. All of this while being on top of a ship that is going at high speed. Condition : - existance of corpus raft/boat like platforms from which a small group of enemys can fire . : - possibility of staying on top a liset . - DE kindness Idea is made just as inspirational material for DE Edited March 29, 2014 by Elestor
MrAnticitizen
This sounds more like an event idea than a mission type idea.
Elestor
Event ? Well yeah , it could be used to see if more ppl like it .I personally would , not only during and event but after as well , giving me reason to replay missions in neptune more often :) Its also a bit more different than the current ones. To be honest you already do something similar when you move the carts on grineer maps to open up access. The platform moves and you can shoot from it . Why not have an awesome way to do this as a mission ? Or should it be an event ? Edited March 25, 2014 by Elestor
MrAnticitizen
I don't see this being a mission unless DE decided to put up an event involving the return of the Orokin.
Elestor
huh ? why return if the mission uses the word orokin it automatically involves their return . Derelicts have been found , so i dont see why its not possible for something old of orokin nature to crash on a planet. (be it a satelite out of orbit , drone or other stuff lost through the ages......) mission is simple : something crashed -> go get it. To make it fun , you surf and shoot on top of your ship :)
DangerDaddy
This is similar to Kappa, you start one mission type and "new information arises" that forces you to change objectives. I'd suggest though it's not a map tile, it's instead a G3-style random event on which ever map tile it works best on. And get rid of Liset's health, you shouldn't have to worry about the beacon as well as liset's survival, it's more of an annoyance than a fun inducer in my opinion. The rewards don't make sense for the mission, in my opinion. We don't own a Liset, and only see it at the very end of extraction missions, why would we customize it? As well, a rare mod/weapon isn't really specific. It should have a specific thing attached to it, such as an event-reward weapon or mod that currently isn't available in missions. And finally, you need to change the word "urge" as you used it about 5 times... there's some other words that could be better used instead, such as "force", or "suggest". Elestor
:) nicely said. Yes i do use the words urge alot . The thing about liset health : is to add more difficulty . Im sure you know a few opinions regarding it . Was thinking about hardcore players when i wrote it. Also to answer your question : you get to customize everything in the game except the ship....It should have more use than just seeing it at extraction no ? meIody-
It's Neptune, wouldn't it be Corpus?
