Flora Warframe Concept - Gaia

Hello all! After brainstorming a long while, I present to you my first Warframe concept!

The Gaia Warframe was developed by the Tenno High Council through research of infested tree samples taken from Orokin Derelicts, in hopes of purifying the genome of life on Earth, which succumbed to mutation by the Technocyte virus, as well as Orokin genetic alterations and Grineer industrial pollution.

Gaia is a flora-based female Warframe. A close range combat specialist, she uses powerful crippling and disabling debuffs to weaken enemies, allowing her fellow Tenno to close the gap or retreat unscathed.

- - - Appearance - - -

Her design takes inspiration from the Japanese Geishas, patient and graceful dancers who are also skilled in the art of flower arrangement.

I envisioned Gaia having ivy vines wrapped around her right arm, leaf-like patterns on her armor, shoulder pads with curvature resembling flower petals, and a sash-like design around her waist ending in a knot on her back (similar to a kimono). Her helmet could mimic Lotus' head design, but with more emphasis on the petals, appearing like a short hair style of sorts.

Due to lack of artistic skills, concept art is out of my reach. I would much appreciate help from community artists!

- - - Stats - - -

Gaia

Health – 125 (375 at max rank)

Power – 100 (150 at max rank)

Armor – 65

Shield Capacity – 125 (375 at max rank)

Sprint Speed – 1.0

Stamina – 80

Polarities – 4 x = | 1 x V | 1 x D

Aura Polarity – V

- - - Abilities - - -

*Underlined numbers can be affected by Power mods.

Tumbleweed

#1 - 25 energy

Entangles enemies’ feet with tumbleweed to hinder their every step.

- Spreads seeds in a 180 degrees arc in front of Gaia, growing tumbleweed on the feet of all enemies hit within 6 / 8 / 12 / 15 meters. Entangled enemies will be staggered by ranged attacks, and knocked back by melee attacks. Tumbleweed lasts 8 / 10 / 12 / 15 seconds.

- Affected by Power Range (seed spread) and Power Duration (entangled duration).

- Tumbleweed is not affected by Power Strength.

- Does not affect flying units (Ospreys, jetpacking Hellions) and stationary objects (cameras, turrets).

Vine Whip

#2 - 50 energy

Whirls a thorny vine around, imbedding thorns into enemies to slow their movement.

- Gaia extends a long vine from her right arm, whirling it around to strike all enemies within a 15 meters radius, and dealing 150 / 200 / 250 / 300 Slash damage. The vine is lined with thorns that are imbedded into enemies hit, slowing their move speed by 20% / 30% / 40% / 50% for 10 / 12 / 15 / 20 seconds.

- Vine Whip is considered a melee attack, and will knock back enemies affected by Tumbleweed.

- Cannot hit enemies behind cover.

- Affected by Power Strength (Slash damage & slow percentage) and Power Duration (slow duration)

- Vine Whip is not affected by Power Range.

Death Blossom

#3 - 75 energy

Scatters pollen into the air, reducing damage from and amplifying status chance on enemies.

- Gaia spins in place elegantly, unleashing a radial cloud of energy flower petals that pollinates all enemies within 15 / 17 / 20 / 25 meters. Coated enemies have their damage reduced by 50%, and succumb to 50% / 60% / 70% / 80% status chance from all Tenno weapons and abilities for 15 / 17 / 20 / 25 seconds.

- Does not affect weapons or abilities with a higher or 100% status chance than the current level of Death Blossom.

- Vine Whip and Uproot damage types can proc on coated enemies.

- Death Blossom cannot be activated again until duration ends or all coated enemies are killed.

- Affected by Power Strength (status chance percentage), Power Range (coat range), and Power Duration (coated duration).

Uproot

#4 - 100 energy

Seeds the ground with thick vines that ensnare enemies.

- Gaia creates a glowing seed in her right palm and slams it into the ground, growing thick vines that shoot forth from underneath 6 / 8 / 10 / 12 random enemies within 10 / 15 / 20 / 25 meters of Gaia. Enemies are ensnared by the vines, immobilized and receive 50 / 75 / 100 / 125 Puncture damage every second for 10 seconds (total damage: 500 / 750 / 1000 / 1250). When Uproot duration ends or ensnared enemies are killed, the vines will slam into the floor before retreating underground, dealing 50 / 75 / 100 / 125 Impact damage and knocking down all enemies within 5 meters radius.

- Ensnared enemies cannot move but can still attack.

- Will not cast if no enemies are in range.

- Cannot be recast until all ensnared enemies are killed or Uproot duration ends.

- Affected by Power Strength (number of enemies ensnared, Puncture DPS & Impact damage from vines) and Power Range (search range)

- Uproot is not affected by Power Duration.

Let me know what you think! Changes, suggestions, critique, all of it welcome :)

Edit: removed spoiler tags, buffed Death Blossom duration.

For starters, you got your 3 and 4 mixed up. The 3rd power is WAY too strong for a #3, and your ult isn't very impressive for an ult. Swapping them makes it perfect.

I'm not sure about your lorification of the 3, as we're, y'know, in space ships, but it can be worked with.

Otherwise, this is actually a fairly interesting frame design. Seems reasonably well balanced(with the 3&4 swapped), useful, and not OP.

Thanks for your reply! I must been thinking about Vauban's Bastille when conceptualizing Uproot.

I agree its potency is indeed overboard for a non-ultimate. I made the swap, numbers tweaked, and lorified it, please take a look :)

Its sad to see good ideas like this not get noticed by the community as much as they should.

How many people usually wonder in the fan concept forums a day?

Anyways very cool frame great work

It's funny, the bad ideas tend to be the ones that get the most notice. Good ideas, nobody has anything to say except "this is a great idea".

Bad ideas, you get lots of bickering and name calling about what an incredibly effing bad idea it is.

So most ideas that stay on top tend to be utter trash. =/ Such irony. =(

I suggest u change the name into Ceres because the Gaia is actually a Earth god not a green-finger maiden.

I don't think they'd have a frame named after a planetoid.

If not going with Gaia(which, honestly, works well, considering what's attributed to that) It'd be interesting to suggest names from other places. The entire world is full of so much cool lore and so much history... should consider it.

Like, "Ninsar", the sumerian goddess of plants. That's something totally different and interesting.
