Greetings, Tenno! Last week Steve promised us something fantastic this week: More Lore!

Not on anything, but about the Twin Queens themselves.

(To the uninformed they are the ruling party of the Grineer Empire)

Does that mean there'll be an event coming out? A new boss fight? Hopefully not just a little blip in our inbox.

It makes me wonder what exactly the twin queens are. Are they really two sisters who rule the empire? Are they two clones? What if they're not even two queens, but two ruling councils who are run by women?

Maybe they're two clones of Freddie Mercury that decided to take over! I haven't a clue. I just know they may have vaguely have to do with Kela De Thaym, and she has reinforced the idea that the two queens are sisters.

Any ideas everybody?

What do you guys want to happen?

 

Well, maybe I misheard Steve. About the queens. And about the lore.

A little bit sexiness apart from the warframebutts would definetly not hurt the game.

 

What if they're two dudes and are called "queens" for another reason? :P

I want them to speak Grineer instead of English.

I just assume that there's a translator in our helmets that translates incoming messages into English.

Yes, i'd very much see more Kela stuff. Though I'd imagine the Twin queens would just raise clones of themselves to take their place.

I don't imagine them as hot. I see them as older women, honestly. But hot wouldn't hurt if that's what you're after. Cyborg clones are not for everybody.

 

Kela probably isn't in her final form... lol. They'll remake her sooner, but it's all about Vay Hek for now... So yeah, current Kela is probably not going to be relate to Queens in looks.

Yeah, she does need some reworking. She isn't necessarily needed now (We've been waiting for Vay Hek for at least 3 months really), but Kela is upcoming. Honestly I thing Sht. Nef Anyo and Tyl Regor need reworks.

I'd the story to go as follows :D

 

Only one Queen rules at a time, and the other rests in cryosleep to repair her slowly degenerating DNA. Every 500 years, one queen is put to sleep - and an hour later - the other is awakened. Taela and Herrigant, the Twin Queens, have never met.

 

However, Sargus Ruk's failures in stopping the Lotus, and Alad V's advances with Orokin tech have caused a Grineer state of emergency. With Tenno strikes threatening to breach their homeworld - Ruk has no choice...Both Queens will be awakened!

 

While they are twins, the Queens could not be more divergent. For 367 years, the universe has come to fear the militarized oppression-machine of the Grinner under the rule of Taela the Forgemaiden. Her thirst for the tight grasp of power cannot be underestimated -  the very same power she excercised on her own sisters' devoted followers centuries ago.

 

Ruk will awaken Herigant the Artificer, and expose the heretical void-twisted science that led to the rise of the Grineer empire, all while sealing its slowly-eroding fate. Her long-suppressed supporters, 'Hand of the Void', will storm back through the derelict portals whence they were banished and reclaim their place at their Queen's side.

 

A Queen who will soon learn that a century of her progress was banished to the Void.

 

Basically, everyone's in for it.

DE can go 2 ways with the Queens: 

 

1) 2 really beautiful woman with beautiful royal armor with gold bits or gems with a really #*($%%@ up case of paranoia and psychotic behavior.

 

2) 2 really #*($%%@ up, ugly, creepy woman (like the new Hek) sitting on a mechanical throne that is impossible to even try and reach. 

 

Either way they should not be a boss in the game. Like if they die, story is over!? Dah!

They could just be older respectable women. Is that not a possibility? They don't have to be creepy or ugly or extremely beautiful.

But yeah, them being bosses would be a tad silly.

I also think they SHOULDNT be a boss. No killing them. Ever. Facing them somehow? Why not. Killing them? NEVA.

 

I am personally torn between the "young and beautiful, contrasting the general ugliness of the grineer" and "old, wise and respectable-looking".

Were they a trio that we could've done the classic maiden/mother/crone combo, but they're twins.

Maybe, rather than bosses themselves, they have a guardian. Similar to Alad V, but maybe Gustrag or another Grinner dual boss, like Kril and Kela or other. Don't think they promised us more lore with this week's update.

Did you see the last devstream? If you did you'd remember Steve promising that lore is coming out this week. The only real way that'd come out is with an update. I'd give you an exact time, but that'd require me watching it all over again.

So one of the sisters used to be corpus or tenno or just based to the moon?

What if they aren't even human? The Grineer worship them like they were gods. Yes they could be pure humans on life support, but nothing is actually stopping them from actually being an AI that has not only bread the Grineer but the Grineers' motives over many years.

oo here's a theory!

i think maybe it went/goes something like this- all female Grineers were cloned from the queen's DNA, all males were from the king's.

BUT! the king died so they could no longer get (relatively)"fresh" DNA for the males, and thus made them resort to cloning clones of clones (not a good look), thus being the reason why the male Grins look so much more aged and decayed and #@%&*'d up compared to the fems.

oh, and then the queen made a clone-queen to help her rule n stuff.
