"frozen" During A Survival Mission

I was doing a solo survival run on Nuovo (Ceres) and had just run out of life support.  I activated Blessing and was almost out when suddenly my character stopped moving.  I could look down the scope of my gun and type, but I couldn't move, shoot, look around, or activate any abilities.  All I could do was watch while why shields/health continued to dwindle down until it hit zero and even then the mission didn't end.  In the end I had to "Abort Mission" in order to exit out.

 

I don't know if it's related, but this happened at the same time they were making announcements for the next patch (that's how I knew my message window was still working).
