Warframe Lore

It’s without surprise that the Proto Armor has raised questions about the Lore of Warframe. For many players, Dark Sector was the beginning. The Proto Armor has indicated that yes, Dark Sector and Warframe are inextricably linked. Stay tuned for more!

Here ends argument.  Now excuse me, while I fanboy out all over Hayden, and sit on his lap and ask for Winter Solstice presents, like a Proto Glaive, a Volt Prime, and a Goat Simulator gamemode where you play as a kubrow.

Dude.. It's the playermodel from dark sector.

I know.

It doesn't matter. As I said, this skin could just as well be a nod towards the earlier game. It doesn't necessarily have to be canon. It could just be a "kewl thing" like the candy cane skins.

Until DE says so, it is speculation.

Candy cane weaponry, Bunny-Grineer, and Pumpkin-head Grineer are all confirmed as canon.

Well, maybe this is it. Confirmation that Hayden Tenno is the origin of the Tenno.

Until DE confirms anything, it is just as much canon as the Candy Cane polearm skins.

It (the skin) could just be a nod towards Dark Sector.

We'll see how it pans out.

Did you not read the description of the skin in the store?

It's canon.

How much Dark Sector actually effects the Warframe story is yet to be seen. But yeah. It's pretty much official they are in the same universe, just separated by vast amounts of time.

The difference, I think, is that the Proto Skin comes with lore backing it, while the Spearmint Skin is just the typical "Happy Holidays! Have a cool skin!" description.

mfw I never thought about that

I was looking at the codex entries for a new one, but didn't see it.

The new lore was under our nose the whole time...

Candy Cane aside:

This confirms Dark Sector's Hayden Tenno, but WHICH Dark Sector and WHICH Hayden Tenno is up to debate:

Are we looking at the modern-military Dark Sector game that was published being connected, or are we looking at a revival of the original Sci Fi version of the game (in some form)? Personally, I think it's the latter - given that the talk of the Technocyte being invented by the Orokin (although maybe it means that in the same vein we would call Pre-Successful Revolution George Washington an American when we was really just a rebellious British Citizen?) and the original Dark Sector had it invented by a modern-day human scientist.

It is clearly tenno tradition to grab their blunt candycane scyths and hunt down a reindeerneer for the christmas celebrations, so all the tenno in tennotown can gather around the lotus tree and sing welcome christmas while uncle hek attempts to steal christmas again.

In all seriousness, the flavor text says a lot in terms of lore, who knows what the next update will bring, but I'm excited for it.

I'd have to agree with the latter as well.

With all the compromises and shenanigans that brought Dark Sector into existence, I'd think they'd want to rework it a bit to work in the Warframe lore.
